šŸ˜‚ WHY DON’T YOU SEND HER TO ANOTHER SCHOOL?!

As far as my ā€œtoleranceā€ goes, I will never tolerate people who are bigots. Ever.
Well, that's a lie. If they have a (D) next to their name, you'll not only tolerate them, you'll idolize them. You support the party that:

Elected a former Klan leader as Senate president and named half the buildings in his state after him
Supported slavery and fought for it
Founded the Ku Klux Klan
Implemented Jim Crow
Supported segregation
Opposed the Civil Rights Act
Treats Blacks as inferior and tells them they can't succeed without your help
Plays the race card constantly

So yeah, you can shove that phony holier than thou nonsense. You aren't bothered by bigotry. You're just virtue signaling.

How did you know I unignored you? Anyway. Sigh. As far as your first paragraph, why do you think I feel that way? Show me an instance where I spoke up in support of bigotry perpetrated by a Democratic politician? I’ll rebut the rest of your drivel after you answer me.

The hilarious part about all that drivel is that there's members on this board who would gladly implement segregation again to remove the dilution of society. Or that he would ever support changing the names of buildings when we've seen countless times on this forum how "it would be erasing history!". Gotta love our resident real doctor!

Never knew you'd ignored me in the first place. You're a phony. You rant about bigotry but support the party whose long history of racism is disgusting and well documented. You don't condemn any of it. When we've discussed this before you simply make excuses for it or try to spin it. You never oppose bigotry or racism or speak out against it when your own party does it in abundance. You just spout off when you think someone from the other side is engaging in it. That's why I call you a hypocrite about it and point out that you're virtue signaling instead of actually opposing it.

Thanks for not answering my question. I’m not gonna argue with you because you refuse to argue in good faith. You can go back to your circle jerk with your buddies now. Tell Adolf, er RDU, I said heil. I mean hi.

Is this hyperbole? Do you really think there is a(one) member of this board that would "gladly implement segregation" let alone member(s)? Has anyone ever actually said that? Are you just assuming? Projecting? That is a hell of a conclusion to jump to. Maybe I missed a previous set of posts where people expressed their desire for segregation, but damn. If that's the case, I'm really naive. If this is how you view people, then I can understand why you get so emotional/personal on here. You imagine you are fighting the kkk or something? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I was working the day people expressed their dream of a return to segregation.....

MAGA claims that life was better in the 1950’s. Segregation was prevalent in many aspects of society. One could even say that they dominated everyday life. Several members of Irish Envy are MAGA Republicans. Even @Giddyup can connect those dots.

Yes. Members here would.

Irish, bishop, rdu, cal, blazer, drayer, gladiator. There is a list. They are all racist pieces of shit and absolutely would support it.

Cal posted a tweet barely over a week ago from an ultra-right Irish nationalist party calling for segregation. I pointed it out. Blazer was in another thread less than 48 hours ago bitching about protecting white Christians!

So yes. People here would. There have been posts here supporting the idea. You are naive.

i get it but of all the things great things going on in the 50s, you think segregation is the thing drawing MAGA? Could it be owning a house? Having a thriving economy? optimism for the future? Family values? Familiar moral values? If anything, I always felt MAGA was more pissed off by the divisive messages on the left. Also, if anything they want integration. They seem more upset because they feel like people are not integrating and adopting "American values" I mean, for Christs sake, how many people in the US are even descended from southern WASPS or Virginia planters or whatever. Would it make any sense for them to want to bring back segregation? Most Americans are relatively recently descended from immigrants. Whether Italian, Polish, German, Irish, slavic, whatever, I'm guessing even the white people in MAGA arent super motivated by some segregation or racial superiority as their grandparents were probably recently considered undesirable.

This is sewer level garbage. There are aspects of the 1950's that were definitely better and others that weren't. If someone says they long for those days, you can't automatically paint them as racist who miss segregation in US society. Someone could be referring to US education quality before the feds got involved, or the prices of food and gas, one income being more than enough to support a family, etc.

Oh, so then on top of being racist they are stupid fucks too who don't understand history, basic economics, or where the DoE came from?

Also, thank you for constantly reminding us of why the phrase dumb polacks exist. You obviously don't know that we had no measurable way to determine where education levels were, and that it was constantly cheated at the time. You also fail to mention that schools were segregated for that time period you yearn for. And the one reason why households could survive on a single income is because we actually taxed the rich back then (91% tax rate for the highest earners during the 50s compared to 37% today. The effective rate was around 45% compared to 28% today.)...and the average home was less than 1000sqft. Good work though. Keep it up.

Can we go back to 1950s tax policy? MAGA, right?!

Yes.

More people own homes now than in the 1950s

The economy in the 1950s was fantastic..it was also built on the fact that an entire continent was destroyed following two World Wars in three decades, the Fed was pumping a huge amount of money (subsidizing) education, and the range of goods and services was incredibly limited. Hell, nearly 25% of the population still lived beneath the poverty line(today it is less than half of that)....unsurprisingly..MAGA doesn't know or care about this since a vast majority of those people were minorities.

Optimism for the future? For who? Whites? We were at the start of a Cold War with the USSR and terrified of being vaporized ona daily basis as well.

At the end of this, all this comes down to is MAGA being racist. They want to revert to the comfy "Leave it to Beaver" lifestyle they've been told about in the 1950s where they don't have to address anything uncomfortable and can just send undesirables back across the tracks or label gay people as "mentally deranged" and send them to mental hospitals.

They don't give a flying fuck about people who look or think differently than them and don't want to be bothered by them. They 100% want segregation because they only care about people who look like them and think like them. MAGA are racist bigoted fucks and the world would be a better place without them. They are a cancer
...people thought Jim Crow was moral! That was the idea!

Define "American values" as MAGA sees them.

You are one stupid mother fucker if you think segregation was only a southern issue. It wasn't. (1)

You're wrong. They don't care that their great-grandfather was seen as subhuman. They care now that a brown family moved next door and they don't speak English well enough for their liking, so they don't want them there. They've ditched the hoods and burning crosses for NIMBY policy. They've "evolved."

I don’t think MAGA supporters want segregation. I think those that do are extremist. They may claim to be MAGA but I don’t think they represent MAGA.

I believe members of this board would in fact like members of society separated from their preferred group of people, yes. Whether that be people ā€œmuddyingā€ the culture, or labeling certain religions as inferior and barbaric.

Now, to address the rest of your post. Projecting? No, I love the fact that I live in a multicultural city and that I can visit the most multicultural superpower in the world by cross the border. Me being emotional? Tracey, you should look back through these threads and see who’s freaking out about ā€œthe west is fallingā€ etc.

I would say the number of Dem politicians who support Hamas far outnumber the couple backwoods Bubba's who want black schools and white schools to make a comeback in the US.

Nice whataboutism. Now, show me proof that ANY Dem politician supports Hamas.

Guys, two things can be true.

There could have been problems with racial disparity in the 1950's.

And there could have been incredible prosperity coming out of WW2 in the US in the 'fabulous fifties'. They literally made TV shows and movies about how awesome the fifties were. Happy Days, Lavergne And Shirley, Grease, American Graffiti, etc.

Again, it doesn't mean they were not problems but these problems existed in every decade prior to the fifties.

There aren't, there are Christian Nationalists. There are people who think Muslims are all terrorists or terrorist apologists.
Haha. The funny part here is you quoting SeeknDestroy, who thinks anyone who romanticizes some aspects of US life in the 1950's wants whites and blacks drinking from different water fountains and going to different schools.

First, it's not a whataboutism. It's putting two different groups into perspective, a concept that is escaping you today.

Second, see Rashida Tlaib.
Don’t be obtuse. You know goddamn well what a whataboutism is. I was speaking about segregation in the 50’s and you took a detour and some how ended up at Democratic pols supporting terrorism. But at least you admit you can’t defend MAGA.

Good job naming a Democratic pol. Now prove she supports Hamas. Make sure you supply receipts.

I was definitely not alive in the 50s. The only thing I associate with it is what I saw in sitcoms. I'm thinking like Andy Griffith (well nevermind, maybe Andy griffith was 1960s. I guess switch it to leave it to beaver....). So when I associate things with the 50s I'm thinking community, pies, family, cool cars, jobs for everyone, thriving post ww2 economy. When we see an idealized past in Back to the Future, I wouldn't automatically assume it is touting segregation. That would be a reach of all reaches. Stuff like that. The last thing that ever crosses my mind is segregation. Can't we basically talk about any time in the history of humans before 1960 and say there was either slavery or segregation in some form? So to associate the 50's with a longing for segregtion seems captain fucking insano.
Btw, this is why the left fucking sucks/has gone too far. Instead of the 50s being a wholesome idealized era, now someone is a creepy segregationist if they say it was a nice time in America. The right has its issues but the left is mentally sick.

The point is that the 50’s weren’t great for a lot of people. So when MAGA claims that things were great, some people are going to bring up the facts. Women did not have rights, blacks did not have rights, poverty was outrageous, etc.
