More trump support for Russia

I saw a twitter post from yesterday painting this as Zelensky backing Trump into a corner where he's forced to show his hand. By offering payment for weapons, Trump declining would show his true intentions.

The ONLY way that Trump could justify declining this is if he truly thought that a peace deal was close to being finalized with Russia. I don't think anyone believes that.

I saw that post too and the person is clearly an idiot. Ukraine can't back the US into any corners lol that's silly. We are keeping the lights on for them.

"Backed into a corner" may not be exactly right. However, it does place Trump in an awkward spot.

If you aren't on the side of Russia, why would you decline the sale of $50 billion of arms??

I threw out the possibility of claiming that they were close to a peace deal. Is there any other good reason?

Your reading comprehension sucks.
No, my reading comprehension is pretty good. I did well on that portion of the LSAT.

"Backed into a corner" and "true intentions" talk is silly. It's not a secret Donald wants to end the war. Ukraine seems willing to keep it going as long as they keep getting money, weapons, and can find old guys on the street to stuff into vans and send east.

Donald can't do anything about the latter, but he can do something about weapons and money. Them saying "ok more weapons but this time it will be paid for" doesn't undermine Donald's position at all.

Why isn't trump putting pressure on Russia? Instead of having to them at every opportunity

The problem is that all of the tough talk has only been directed at one side. Putin is treated with kid gloves. Maybe it's time to tell Putin, if you aren't interested in pursuing peace, we will sell $50 billion in arms to the Ukrainians.

Seems to have not worked since Ukraine is still needing to buy weapons and Russia is bombing Ukrainian civilian targets.

What's his next move?

I'm not sure what you mean by "worked" - did Russia find a loophole? Not sure what that has to do with Ukraine's personal problems.

You say civilian targets, they say military targets or bad intelligence probably. That's what we do anyway.

Can't tell you what his next move is

I specifically told you.

Trump even called it a mistake..so....

Interesting. That's a great sign.
You didn't. You said something about Ukraine needing weapons. Like your thought tailed off and a new one started.

Trump called it a mistake? Did the Russians?
