They know exactly what they're doing. Everything is transactional to himAlmost as though these people have no idea what they are doing.

Where Trump's approval rating as president stands in a brand new national poll
Americans' concerns over the economy, and specifically inflation and tariffs, appear to be partially fueling the downward trend of President Donald Trump's approval ratings in a new national poll.www.foxnews.com
They can't/won't admit it. The astute financial experts need more time digesting the results before carefully weighing in.So everyone recognizes he’s actually just fucking dumb, right?
LOL What?
I don't think he's a 4d master chess player that can do no wrong, and I think his economic policy is pretty flawed, but I don't think he is any more stupid than the average politician we have had in my lifetime. I think that he is more boisterous and lacks the humility that other politicians have which exaggerates how stupid he comes off. They can't/won't admit it. Trump being able to replace JPow with a MAGA lackey will be the final nail in the US economic coffin.About time for Humphrey's Executor to get overturned
No, he’s legitimately stupid. Do you honestly think given all his failed business ventures and demonstrable lack of business acumen that he would be a person of any consequence if he did not inherit a shit ton of money?I don't think he's a 4d master chess player that can do no wrong, and I think his economic policy is pretty flawed, but I don't think he is any more stupid than the average politician we have had in my lifetime. I definitely sympathize with this point. But I still think independent regulatory agencies are unconstitutional without an amendment allowing their creation. With a healthy political climate, we normally would be able to trust the Senate to use their authority of advice and consent to reject the My Pillow guy from running the FTC, but I understand that the level of sycophancy would challenge that. I think the margins are thankfully slim enough now that we wouldn't have to worry about that, but who knows.Trump being able to replace JPow with a MAGA lackey will be the final nail in the US economic coffin.
There have been better businessmen, there have been worse businessmen. No, he’s legitimately stupid. Do you honestly think given all his failed business ventures and demonstrable lack of business acumen that he would be a person of any consequence if he did not inherit a shit ton of money?
He ran every single company he ever owned/managed into the ground and corrupt as hell. There have been better businessmen, there have been worse businessmen.
Not really. The core of his real estate business - his hotels, golf courses, office buildings, etc. - were all generally still pretty profitable. As was the Apprentice and his Trump licensing. He ran every single company he ever owned/managed into the ground.
See my edit above. Also, below. The Frontline piece delves into this as well. His bailout had nothing to do with his business acumen. Not really. The core of his real estate business - his hotels, golf courses, office buildings, etc. - were all generally still pretty profitable. As was the Apprentice and his Trump licensing.
Frankly I don't give a shit. With the extent of our current political polarization no President needs that power, especially Trump of all people.I still think independent regulatory agencies are unconstitutional
His private life pre-presidency is enough evidence to know he's not a smart person. His recent economic embarrassment is pretty much the nail in the coffin of him being objectively an idiot. He destroyed international confidence in his ability to have sound economic policy. We're not even talking about culture war stuff, the main black and white measure of success being - economic policy is a resounding embarrassment. You'll be hard pressed to find a president who has embarrassed themselves this publicly and unanimously. I have clients that are listed in London/HK and they are all pretty conservative and they're shocked at the lack of foresight.I don't think he's a 4d master chess player that can do no wrong, and I think his economic policy is pretty flawed, but I don't think he is any more stupid than the average politician we have had in my lifetime.
