Need better shooting from the field in the last quarter. TCU closed the gap after being down by 10 or so points. Missed shots are keeping TCU in this game.

Officiating is all over the place.
terrible. hopefully it evens back out towards ND a bit here.

Need to have a plan on offense. When they don’t it doesn’t usually end well.

They must not have much confidence in Maddy to hit one. you go horns, use her to pick and pop…wide open

a crazy up and down game for both teams and looking to come down to last minute or seconds like the tigers vs wolfpack game last night

If we lose this, and it feels like a coin flip, there is a view in my head that Ivey might have lost it, but not her fault.

The reason: She seems to have justifiably honored Soni, but too much. She ran it out last on the intros; big honor.

I think that this has worked Soni up too much. She's playing crazy hard, but it's not "Best Soni." Ivey took her out.

Maybe with a rest, she'll come back down, and not do too much.

Koval is the worst player I’ve ever seen play at Notre Dame. Slow as fuck and can’t hit a layup.

Also, Niele Ivey ain’t it.

Terribly 1 sided officiating all of a sudden.

TCU’s coach running a clinic on exploiting mismatches and scheming to get ball where it needs to go.
Ivey needs a big time hire who has an idea of an offensive system. She’s a great head coach for recruiting and face of a program. But she needs help.

I’m seeing the sorry a$$ body language out there again. Miles seems to do everything lazily and defense is soft. Big girl from TCU had totally scared our girls

The team fails in the big spot way too often. S16 is the minimum expectation given our talent. Coaching is a big problem. Questions have to be asked about why the team consistently comes up short against teams with ostensibly lesser talent.

A leader would gather their team in moments like these, but I guess we’ll either take the timeouts into the off-season or use them all in the final 2-3 minutes.

It's called nobody can make a shot. That isn't coaching. It's been this way all year -- if Hannah and Olivia are cold, it's going to be a slog. And Sonia isn't hitting anything today either. King is is the only one playing well, but she's more of an opportunist than a weapon.

Five seasons and can’t get out of the sweet sixteen, which is especially astounding given the history of this program. At what point do you think it’s the coach’s fault?

I think our conditioning sucks too. Legs can’t get under those layups and free throws. We’re also huffing and puffing

There's a good chance the program spirals now. The talent -the only thing holding the team up- will drop off big time next year.

Would MM come back as an assistant or something? Not kidding. She lost in the tournament too, of course (everyone does) but she was rarely out-coached. Losing to, say, a super-talented UConn team coached by Geno is different than losing to TCU. It doesn't matter how many transfers they have.

Another mucked up fast break with a layup hitting the bottom of the rim. Niele's fault! Missed free throws from Soni and Hannah? Niele's fault! Missed open 3s? Niele's fault! Look at all the missed layups.

My worry too. Who knows how many we lose next year.

The ladies need to hit those but Niele needs to have the team dialed in. They ran down and got blocked in the paint on 2-3 consecutive possessions & we didn’t call timeout or slow it down. It’s everyone’s fault, dude. But you’re the only one pretending it’s only on one side and arguing for Niele, pretty religiously.

Yeah we didn’t play well. But scheme can help. Look at TCU. They were put in spots for high % shots. ND running off script offense and getting multiple JUMPERS blocked in a critical moment in 3rd quarter. There was no plan.
They had something going with the horns looked and went away from it:
