Trying to think back at some kids that were actually true 5 stars when they committed like Dunham. It’s been so damn long.

- Deuce Knight: was like a solid 4 star that grew into a 5, never believed he was actually sticking
- Will Black: grew into a 5 star from a 3 star
- Bryce Young: started as a high 3 / low 4 star
- Peyton Bowen: Was a top 100 kid early, but not a five star. Also committed v early and was always shaky.
- Keeley: blew up after junior year to be a 5 star, started out as solid 4 star
- Sneed: top 150 kid who climbed to top 50 later in cycle.

Honestly it might be Michael Mayer, and even he wasn’t rated like Dunham. Shit even Kyle Hamilton wasn’t a composite top 50 guy.

Before Mayer, you probably have to go back to Tommy Kraemer and Jaylon Smith. The staff has been good at identifying talent but wire to wire 5* guys have been rare.

Whats the projection on this guy. I havent watched anything on him other than the highlight film on the first page, but didnt think he looks particularly explosive, twitchy, or incredibly athletic. Obviously theres something here to be excited about, so genuinely asking what Im not seeing. Looks like a solid prospect and worthy potential pickup, but his film doesnt scream high 4/5 star to my eyes.

Landing Young, Dunham, and Burgess in back to back to back years.

Developing a tag line for this day and age:

There’s no bad recruiters, just less money.

Glad Al appears to be turning the ship. Can Durham grow into a DT??

Tim Prister had a nice write up about him today and extolled his many virtues……explosive and quick off the line in all stances, great motor, LB speed in a DE body, etc. Expects him to be a star in college and beyond.

Young and Dunham both have the frame to not just be speed rushers but also solid in run support. I think you could find flashier pass rush highlights but those guys don’t profile as every down DEs as well.

This was basically my reaction when I watched Vernon's film after he committed. I think Dunhams film is far more explosive. Ratings are justified IMO.

Looks like we’ve been a favorite along with Duke for some time now. He seems like a great fit. I live nearby, I’ll have to check out one of his games this fall regardless of who he picks in April.

It was stated earlier that he wants to major in engineering.

I'd say based on that he's not Keon 2.0

The fact that he was going to OV to Duke shows that he cares about academics. I hope we get him.

I assume Texas isn’t a concern anymore ??
