Burroughs wasn't someone we were seriously in on. A few months ago, ISD said there were 4-5 WR's in the 2026 class that we were seriously in on and Burroughs was never mentioned.

That was a Top 6 made before unofficials were even set back in early December. He of course never set an unofficial, nor was there talk of it, and set 4 OV's including Texas who he hadn't unofficialed to either. Here's part of his explanation regarding his Top 6. This was a huge nothing burger. I've never typed his name for a reason.

"I have to get to Notre Dame and Texas before I get to my OVs so I can get a feel for everything because I've been to the other campuses."


Florida, Wisconsin, Clemson and Florida State are the other programs in his top six, but Burroughs made it clear that it is not his final six.

"Others can definitely make a move," he said. "Just like I dropped my top 11 and Texas wasn't in there but they still made my top six. If a school comes in and I feel like they are coming on me heavy, they make a big move, they can definitely get back into the race."

Speaking of which, I don't remember seeing this news on here, but I see his son committed to be a preferred walk-on last year - Cool! 2024 WR prospect and Notre Dame legacy Xavier Southall commits to Irish
