That tweet wasn’t too informative. I’m sure we got nothing in return for dropping the Tarrifs. It’s a powerful negotiating tool and can be put back on at anytime.

The stuff I saw was that Trump just delayed the tariffs for 30 days. It just feels that the Trump simply views the threats of tariffs as a stick that he continually threatens to try to get movement on various issues that Trump cares about. I'm hugely skeptical that any substantial threatened tariffs will actually stick. He continues to threaten, then delay, then threaten. Rinse and repeat. Canada seems like they are calling Trump's bluff.

What's more likely is that Trump is a complete moron and doesn't understand how tariffs work and he has congress people, other financial advisors, and deep pocketed friends telling him to stop with this idiocy because it's not profitable for them/ advantageous for them to win re-election in the mid terms if he continues to tank the markets.

The last time Trump did this and "won" concessions Canada simply had to re-state that they were already planning on doing something they announced in December of 2024 and Mexico was going to have troops at the border that they had already had there.

If there's anything the markets love it's instability! I've heard pocket books are important to his supporters, seeing him play fast and loose with my savings would be concerning.

I would love to. I work in immigration. So yes, I know more about immigration than you do.

IYou claim to work for border security or something and the amount of time you spend on here gives me the impression you need something to do…

I've never made that claim. Ever.
Where is Maury… Okay not border security but I think your work in immigration is the “or something” I stated….

TRUMP IS REDEFINING THE WORD INFLATION!

There is in fact a difference between prices of specific goods increasing frictionally and sustained devaluation of the currency and increase costs of goods. Whether or not the Trump trade policy will result in Inflation in the long term is TBD (I think it will probably), but it's not a redefinition of Inflation

It is nothing like Border Security. You remain incorrect.
The context of your conversion was on visas and gold cards which has something do with border security and immigration… so you qualifying yourself in the conversion is a big pile of dog shit. It would just be better if you just admitted you’re unemployed in your tias basement.

It's not just the markets. My staff is responsible for updating all of the pricing and these tariffs are coming in from the manufacturers like an avalanche.

It's horrendous for the actual blue collar workers that support him. I have a few clients in KY that are in manufacturing and the tariffs are straining tf out of their ERP system. The regular Joe is going to get upset at the extra work.

The boomerang tariffs will cause a LOT of short term supply chain instability and price spikes. At best hope, the erratic nature of the import/export policy will move manufacturing into the US. If you own large scale manufacturing, you’d rather have better prices in the American market than Canada/Mexico. That being said, the longer that instability and price volatility lasts, the worse 2026 could go for the republicans, and long term antagonistic trade policy will weaken American economic power globally.
