So you’re talking about Mexico being compromised. Got it.

I don't think that pathology is limited to one party
Certainly not, but recent history has it pretty out in the open.

As a measure of "good faith" these are past bad faith positions from the Dems in recent history
*Obama chiding Romney for Russia
*Moronic Dems questioning Trump's project Warp Speed and that they wouldn't take his vaccine (I can't believe this isn't celebrated more tbh)

Or when the US needs NATO help in the war
I'm personally fine with less NATO financial commitments from the US in part because I don't think we should engage in war with China over Taiwan. If they preemptively bomb Pearl harbor or Apra, that's a different story

The US would lose it's dominance in the Pacific. Economy would take due to the loss of semiconductor production.

Overall US stance on the global stage would take a beating as it is already shakey.

Sure. How many hundreds of thousands of US Servicemembers lives and billions of dollars in warships and planes is it worth to maintain the economic hits from semiconductor production (which we are rapidly improving domestically h/t to Biden for the CHIPS act) and influence in the IndoPacific? I think people severely underestimate the difficulty of the Taiwan defense problem from a military aspect. And if it goes kinetic, those semiconductor factories will be toast regardless

It's a trade/tariff war. That's what they're talking about. Right wing New York Post sucks with their clickbait headlines, fuck 'em..

China winked and nodded at things being potentially kinetic, I think Hegseth talked around it as well

It's not click bait when they are quoting what he said.

It was a response from the Chinese Embassy. They're taking a hard stance, but nobody is going to actual war. This is Teddy Roosevelt diplomacy, speak softly and carry a big stick (Just maybe not so soft). We're flexing our muscles right now to get what we want out of certain allies and trade partners. The threats are empty, but the power behind them is real.

Syria is probably going to have to be broken up like Yugoslavia was. It's sickening what is happening.

I feel so bad for the Christians, the Druze and the Alawites. Unfortunately, they aren't palestinians, so the world doesn't give a rip.
