NATO is a limp dick honestly. They probably should have gone in when Russia first invaded under Obama. I know they're not a member, but if I recall that was a stipulation to prevent Russia from attacking...which they did anyway. Now supposedly Zelensky is alluding that if Ukraine were to join NATO he would resign despite the fact Ukraine has wanted membership for years. Seems really strange.

We're fine supplying them with arms, just not lives. Eventually Ukraine won't have the manpower to hold the line. At that point US arms won't matter. Russia could then potentially take the rest of Ukraine. Settling for peace now is the best course of action because, again, not even Europe is interested in sacrificing their own soldiers for Ukraine. Zelensky appears to be under the delusion they can win back their lost lands, but it's not looking likely given the latest movements.

It's over my man. Trumps plan was always to cut off Ukraine. Even the "reasonable" Right wingers on here seem to think they are "assisting" Ukraine by cutting them off and saving them from themselves. It sucks and it feels morally gross but it's inevitable. The decision has been made. The US is completely bailing. If Ukraine wants to fight, they will not find any support from our govt. I recommend just letting it go and maybe focusing on something else because this is a 100% lost cause. Even if arms were only cut off temporarily, it's devastating. Trump knows exactly what he is doing. This is a giant turd sandwich that is being force fed. No matter how much we protest, we have to swallow.

What I'm seeing is that Trump wants to have better relations with Russia. He wants to do the opposite of what Nixon did. Split Russia/China by engaging with Russia. He wants Russia to engage with the west and keep China out.
