I strongly disagree with their assertions about ND's NIL spending.

ND's overall spend is among the top programs in the country.

ND has paid high school recruits in the past, and will emphasize that more at the premium positions, moving forward.

Also, ND is not in trouble with recruiting this year.
I think they're referring to ND will not get into bidding wars ala Derrick Meadows

A decent collection of posters have been extremely critical of him of recent, more than just a one off joke like mine in the Bowden thread for example. Very direct daily attacks on his professional ability and continued presence on ND board. There is a “Ask Tom” thread since he left and they basically attacked him so much he said he’ll leave then.

There is since a thread calling out the outrageous bad behavior of a small handful that has like 150 upvotes and the trolls complaining that their First Amendment right will be taken away if they don’t get to whine constantly. Prister had a pretty serious reply too.

Imagine basically the worst day of infighting on IE ever, that happens daily on Irish Illustrated.
Truly do not understand why they don't just ban the bozos

Your last comment I will see it when I believe it, if we don't land a good WR class and DL class we are in trouble. So far it seems like the same song and story as last year. Lot of guys with interest but none of these high profile guys are committing here. We have Faison at WR whose rumored to be lining up visits elsewhere. Lot of other WR's interested but a guy like Mosley who had us at the top is getting CB to USC when is the last time he came and visited? Katoanga was a silent to us then ends up at USC? Curious where are we missing out here? We were good enough for him to silent but not go public yet he then jumps to USC? We are in for a lot of DL guys but yet have anyone in the 2026 class.

What’s that phrase? Ah, yes: All is well.
Exactly. It’s that time of year where sports overall is in a dead period so time to conjure up concerns over things that haven’t played out yet. It’s human nature. Let’s not forget that ND’s season went well into January while the majority of FBS schools were already in winter workouts & their staff was on the recruiting trail. Two things happen like clockwork on message boards this time of year: 1) fretting over the direction of the program as it pertains to recruiting & who starts/transfers 2) all the threads in the Politics forum blowing up b/c folks need stuff to argue about

Has anyone noticed that Driskell mentions “Rutgers” an inordinate amount? It’s often used as hyperbole, but he always falls back with Rutgers as an example.
