You need to get yourself a GT350KR so you have a set.

I had a 65 "tribute" but let it go because I was unhappy on how it turned out. I didn't have a lot of money at the time and rushed the job just to say I finished. I think a 68KR restomod is going to be my retirement project. I've had insane thoughts of trying to put a 68 frame on a S550 chassis. I also considered a 55 T-Bird resto job with maybe a Solstice chassis and a coyote engine.

My retirement schedule is going to be walk nine holes M-W-F, ride 18 on Saturday or Sunday, continue to try to master the guitar for 1-3 hours a day, and meticulously rebuild a car.

I'm "only" 51 so, God willing, there's still time to figure it out!

*oops, did I just derail another thread?

This is our border collie, Ayla. When I got married to my wife she brought a chihuahua and toy poodle into the marriage. Stupidest dogs I've ever had, the chihuahua in particular was impossible to train...just a royal pain in the ass with it's willfulness and lack of sense. The poodle was better, but not by much. I said I'd never do that again. I wanted a dog that was incredibly intelligent, among other qualities, and settled on the Border Collie. They are just an amazing breed all together. I love watching videos of them working on a farm, or watching them kill it in those agility competitions.

This is my favorite dog I've ever owned. Incredibly intelligent, there is no doubt...almost too intelligent. She'll pickup tricks in under 10 minutes, but she taught herself how to open doors in the house and when she was a puppy she figured out how to open the shoe storage so she could chew (We broke that habit pretty quick). Border collies do have a lot of energy, which is something you have to be mindful of as an owner, and they can act out if you don't provide enough activity for them. They also are work oriented and will find their own jobs if you don't give them one.

This has been the really cool thing: Ayla has become somewhat of a special needs dog for our son Landon, something that she picked up on her own. She's attached to his hip if he's home, it's really sweet. It started with simple things, like if Landon is home from school and I'm working she comes and nuzzles my hand off the keyboard. I follow her and she leads me to Landon in the living room watching TV because she smells he had a soiled diaper. She does circles, or she looks at me and then looks at Landon back and forth (The border collie stare) until I change him. After she figured out diapers she started getting him off the bus. She'd wait for him at the end of the driveway (We'd be on the porch), she gets him off the bus, and then she runs ahead of him and opens the front door (The bus drivers love her to death). She's also figured out his general schedule, like when it gets dark she knows it's about bed time for him and she'll do the border collie stare at my wife and back at Landon to let her know he should be upstairs  She comes to my office all the time to get my attention, I'll ask her what she wants, and then she'll lead me to her food storage container and open it with her snout to say "Hey stupid, the kids forgot to feed me!" She'll take me to the back sliding door and smack it with her paw when she wants to go out too.

I've had a lot of great dogs over the years and I love training them, but this has been my favorite by far. She's practically trained herself. We let her run around outside the house all the time, never have to worry about her leaving the property which has never really happened with past dogs. Even our Boxers, who are normally lazy as they get older, would chase after wildlife like rabbits if they came within the vicinity, even jumping their electric fences. We have no fences for Ayla, she knows the boundaries and never deviates unless she's on a walk with one of us. We take her to the neighbors during the summer when they have a firepit going and she just so happy herding all the neighbor kids, or she'll play fetch with them for hours. Never seen a dog just go, go, go like that, I've gotta hold her to give her breaks because otherwise she'd probably kill herself running nonstop for hours on end.

Also, border collies will find their own things to herd if they don't have sheep. Notice how she tried to keep my son in check in the backyard a few years ago lol. Almost a perfect circle around his little project.

Definitely looks like a Bobby Bay. When he sees his first bunny... you'll agree.
Having raised Blueticks for a number of years and having owned Redbones, Black & Tans and Plotts I have a pretty good idea what’s to come and we have plenty of rabbits. Lol

Whether you call it a “bay” or “bawl”, there’s no bark that can compare IMO.

We got the beagle so our Mountain Feist would have a playmate. We decided to do a DNA test on her. My wife was sure she was part chihuahua. Turns out she’s 50% beagle, 45% Miniature American Shepherd and not Feist at all.

Consider yourself lucky! You want no part of a chihuahua, I promise you
When my wife and I first got married and were in our first home, I started potty training the chihuahua to go outside instead of on puppy pads. It had never been out in the snow before. I cleared a path so it and the poodle could do their business, but despite the snow being clear the ground was still cold. First time it's paws touched winter ground it stopped in place, rolled on it's back, and started yelping like it was shot. Put it back inside on the carpet and it stopped immediately lol.

Took our new adopted mastador out ice fishing today. I couldn't hardly get a hole drilled cause once the ice shavings from the auger started coming up...all she wanted to do was come eat them. I put a big thick rubber mat my old man has down and some old blankets on top for her to lay on in the shanty. She wouldn't sniff a crappie, but she liked the bluegill and red ears. So glad I broke my no more pets stance after our last 2 passed.

I have a chihuahua, he was my grandma’s dog before she passed. We walk at least a few miles a day and he still usually gives it a go in the snow. It’s pretty hilarious to watch him navigate over and around the piles. But if it’s super cold out, below 30ish, he won’t budge and has to be carried. My other dog is a beagle named Rockne and he can’t get enough of the snow.

Great thread idea and nice photos of all of the dogs!

After putting our first Golden Retriever, Rudy down in September after the A&M game, late in December my wife received a text from a friend that she knew of someone that was looking to re-home a 13 month Golden. We took her in, our home is Camie's third home.

Funny this thread was just bumped. Think I shared a couple months ago that my 3 y/o grandson’s labradoodle had to be put down bc his stomach flipped. Good dog but stupid AF.

On Friday his other granddad gave him Maverick. Mav is a Brittany and apparently they are smart bird hunting dogs full of energy.

Yall might remember we had an English bulldog and that I was almost mauled to death as a kid so other than the super chill low energy dogs I’m more of a cat guy. So I hope this doesn’t catch too much heat in this thread. However,…. Here’s my new bestie, Banshee,… she’s my kitty for sure, follows me everywhere and is just super loving, really great personality. Had her since the beginning of summer

We added a golden retriever to the family about 6-8 weeks ago. It wasn't really my idea, we already had two dogs at the time (Aside from the border collie above we had a geriatric 18 year old poodle that wasn't doing well and since passed). Not only that, but we're in the busiest season for our kids when it comes to sports/band. I really haven't had the time to watch or train a puppy...but we ended up getting her for free from a friend and my wife twisted my arm. She basically said if we got this golden retriever she'd never ask for a chihuahua again (Worst breed to train!) Essentially our friend that breeds show dogs had sold the golden retriever to a guy, but the dog was a runt and he didn't think it would grow to be "show quality" and backed out of the deal. So we got the puppy for free if we promised to let the breeder show the dog a few times a year (If she ends up growing to a decent size). Ended up saving $5-10k.

The golden retriever, who we've named Saffy/Saphira for now, is fairly smart but not quite as much as the collie. She's waaaay more instinctive and willful though, if there's a cat around she takes off after it like a flash while the border collie won't bat an eye or leave the yard. The golden retriever hasn't picked up on the yard boundaries either, she's constantly wanting to go into the neighbor's yard to do her business. She's a sweetie though, and she and Ayla play together well. Here's a cute pic of her with and our border collie sniffing butt.

We have a cat. He's like 18 or 19 years old. I call him Mr. Asshole. You can figure out why.
