I mean it's not a horrible Idea 6'5 320 let him develop for a year and then hes got 2 years to play
I'm sure he's a good kid, but I just don't think he's a very good player. I'm from MA and follow the HS league he played in and I never thought he'd make an impact at a school like ND.

This is actually an idea I agree with. It would help with depth if he can make the switch and he’s got an entire offseason to try and figure it out.

Ty Chan is not good enough for DL period. Scout team DL would be his best bet. By all accounts he is extremely slow. And is not physical. He was a missed eval.

With the expanded rosters hopefully we will see less guys forced out or forced to medically retire

It's not always gonna be no names that we lose to the portal, sooner or later we will lose a producer as well. Would it be crazy to lose Greathouse to Texas for a bag after his playoff run....in my opinion, nope.

The biggest remaining potential addition out there is.... Ben Morrison.
If Gray is nfl talent, then he is likely gone after next year so I’d rather have one more year of benmo. Might as well pony up for Morrison for one more year and have the best two cbs in the country and let gray bump inside if he wants to stay. That’s if Morrison falls out of the 1st and we can match or beat the money.

We need one more DL guy in the portal and it could be edge or interior to be honest. Would love to have both but one more fills some serious depth for 2025.

Retain Sneed, and shoot the moon with Ben Morrison who I think should come back and show a full year of health and tackling to help himself - I do not believe he's a 1st round corner. And this team is set for 2025.

Hail Mary - 5th year rule goes into effect and you pull back Mitch Evans and Riley Leonard?

Time to open up the collective to fans so we can give him an offer he can't refuse, just like Ohio State did with several players last year.
We really short on money? Or do we not want to spend at the OSU level? Legit question.

Chan is interesting. Only a junior, so he might not be able to get his degree by the end of summer. If he has to do another semester for it and wants to stick around for the fall (and assuming we don't want to pull the medical retirement trick), I would definitely be interested in him at DT. He is well and truly buried on the OL depth chart and while we may have okay numbers on the interior of the DL, there are still only 3 that I feel any confidence in being able to contribute next year.

And while he may be slow for OL, DL is such a different job that maybe it works. Maybe he doesn't have the foot speed for OL, but knows how to lean to push a pocket. Or maybe he is strong enough to handle double teams or dent the line when one-on-one.

ND really should have paid Fisher. That is a guy they may have been able to keep. I know he wanted to go to the NFL, but someone OSU convinced these guys back.
But alas, it would have helped but not sure enough.
Still have to get the talent to keep the talent.
More freak skill players are needed.

Really conflicting reporting. John Brice keeps saying that our team's total NIL spend this year was around $7M give or take. O'Malley said this morning that he was told by a rock solid source that it was closer to $15M. So immediately you have a large discrepancy.

The poster on II that everyone says is an insider agreed with O'Malley's number and said it would likely grow and we would become more aggressive about spending on high schoolers in the coming years. People hold that guy's word in high regard but I think he reads like a bit of a sunshine pumper so I'm not sure how true any of that is.

If last night and these playoffs taught us anything, it's that you need as many talented studs as possible, especially along the defensive line, defensive backfield, and wide receiver.

Our winter portal additions were excellent. Fields, Pauling, Dawson, Smith, Stroman and the kicker all fill holes and will all either start or be key rotation guys. A few more elite transfers are needed to turn next year's team from possible contender to potential favorite.

Osu didn't just win this natty by accident, though. They had elite hs recruiting along with massive portal additions. I don't think there's a caleb downs out there, but if there is, ND needs to be willing to swing for the fences as these studs proved the difference in the playoffs.

We all laugh about the perceived need for more DT's, but if we aren't actively tampering for Corleone from Cincinnati or any other proven interior stud that is a legit option, I will have serious doubts we can legitimately make it back to the playoffs next year.
