Anytime that I'm watching a sporting event and there's a shot of the city that has no recognizable landmarks at all, I assume it's Charlotte. I'm usually right.

I don't understand this mindset. Not all conferences are equal. Going 8-4 in a strong conference against strong opposition can be a much bigger accomplishment than going 10-2 in a weak one against bad opposition. Having a great record against air isn't much of an indication of greatness. We've seen lots of teams over the years who were 12-0 or 11-1 against 3rd tier competition and when they run into a good team with, perhaps, a lesser record, they get exposed and demolished. Record/resume are important, but who it was achieved against has to be taken into consideration.
Wins have to matter too. It's probably best to bring them in algorithmically, like having a minimum number of FBS/P4 wins to qualify for the playoff.

I don't quite understand the argument from Kiffen. The CFP put the three best SEC teams in. They were 7-1, 6-2, and 6-2. Quite a few at 5-3. Based on SEC records, those were the best three. ONE made it to the top 4.

If the football is so much better in that conference, wouldn't we see all 3, or at least 2, in the top 4?
Right.

They're 8-6 in bowl games so far, and two wins have come from their newest member. Their other newest member lost to Navy. Tennessee and UGA were both spanked out of the playoff in rather emphatic fashion. I get that their argument is they aren't as interested if they are not playing for a championship and they've had teams with multiple players sitting out, but let me remind everyone the definition of "dominant". Dominant is not USC beating LSU in Vegas to start the season and beating TAMU in Vegas to finish it. Alabama doesn't lose to Michigan twice in a calendar year. UGA doesn't lose to a team in the Sugar Bowl that passed for 90 yards and had one offensive touchdown.

Northwestern has beaten the SEC in bowls in 2012, 2017 and 2020. That's not dominance.

I've said it before, if you're truly that good, travel outside of your region more for OOC games or at least invite the other blue bloods to your place in September instead of playing G5 and FCS schools. The November tune up against Citadel or Mercer for your rivalry game also doesn't impress anyone.

LSU, Nick Saban, Tim Tebow, Georgia and Cam Newton have carried the water. Everyone else have been clingers on. Nothing was dominant about Butch Jones at Tennessee or Will Muschamp at South Carolina.

Howard comin out slinging again. Texas secondary I think is a tad overrated but much better than Tennessee and Oregon, would be a tad more careful if I was him….

Texas Is looking like they can play with OSU. I think Oregon was a bit over rated.
