It’s about the complete failure to finish this class and the completely dumb fuckin process used by some of these coaches. This isn’t good enough.

And how are they over a salary cap? They have maybe 5 players worth spending $ on.
Is this real?

The 23 and 24 classes are likely the reason for the miss on 25. Lots of young studs that would be tough to supplant, and who wants to do the whole "choose hard" bit when you're riding pine as an elite recruit.

Take who wants to come and be great in the 25 class, and reload with 26.
I'm sorry, but that's a BS reason. How is it that Bama, with all those 5*s , had no issues stacking top-3 class after top-3 class? The class is far from written in stone, but if things end the way they're being reported to be trending, it is nothing short of an abject failure to close. Period.

Fuckin right. I don’t want to hear this bullshit about how Kia is “secretly a 5*.” Fuck that, he’s not in Faraimo’s league.

ok... so do you have a reason for the downgrade in the class? All I did was give a potential reason why it might have happened. Didn't say anything about being happy about it.

I think it's a multitude of reasons, but most notably:
  1. NIL has changed everything and ND clearly isn't as invested in spending on HS kids
  2. PT at certain positions isn't as attractive as the schools we're up against
  3. Certain position coaches simply aren't carrying their weight (see: Brown)
I'm not saying the class is a failure, but considering the HC we have, the season we're experiencing, the development (most) of our coaches and players have shown throughout the season, etc -- it does feel like a bit of a letdown at this stage.

So your #2 is basically what I said. Not sure what we disagree on.

Everyone’s getting all but hurt from one USC reporter but at the end of the day ND needs to start putting money aside for highschool kids. It’s hard to land kids when they want upfront money

Well this is where I would say it's on our recruiters to do a better job of fending off the obvious negative recruiting that's happening against us. Is LB a loaded position? I don't know, I guess kind of. Until it isn't. Either way, the staff has proven that they are more than willing to play folks early and often. So while playing time may be more "attractive" elsewhere, are they going to be developed as well there? Are they going to play in an NFL type system there? Or are they just going to be giving the keys and told to be back by midnight? Anyway, that's almost besides the point because this is not the only reason, it's one of many reasons why I think we're struggling.
