• Keep an eye on Texas at Arkansas early. You never know.
• Colorado has a lot of momentum. Utah coming off of a tough loss to BYU.

If we're thinking ahead, it would probably be best if Tennessee beats Georgia. That would give Georgia loss #3 and should take them out of the playoff mix. If Georgia wins, they hang around the mix as does Tennessee

2 loss Bama is getting the benefit of the doubt with their UGA win. UGA now has 2 losses also. Texas' only loss is to UGA. Three losses for UGA reverberates into the playoff in more ways than one.

I was just coming here to comment on this line. Vegsmas knows BYU is an upset waiting to happen. This is why the auto qualifiers for the Big 12 and ACC won't last.

Kansas has had a bunch of close calls and aren't getting beaten up at all. They've played better the last couple weeks. Wouldn't be shocked if they beat BYU.

Sagarin (the only ratings system I bother with any more due to paywalls, etc.) ranks BYU 19th overall and Kansas 28th. Plus, both BYU and Utah seem positioned to lay complete eggs this weekend after they game they had on Saturday.

Their worst loss is 11 points to TCU. The other five losses all range from 2-6 points. They have to beat BYU, Colorado and Baylor to get to a bowl. They're motivated.

I think they have had to adjust without Kotelnicki as OC, but Jeff Grimes has been around and Leipold can run a program. Really just unlucky with that many close losses.
