You forget to change your playbook pregame or set it to a custom playbook that you haven’t created audibles for yet?

I’ve been using a generic playbook. I couldn’t audible and I couldn’t even pick a play if I did hurry up. No plays came up to select

It may just be a weird dynasty bug. Haven't changed any settings. There are some games in my offline dynasty where the scorebug and pre-play controls disappear, and sometimes I can't use the supersim features even though I'm an OC and select "Offense Only"
