I’ve been meaning to post more of these.

“He’s fast, tough and extremely intelligent. With those three things, he’s going to be a really good player for us,” said Irish safeties coach Chris O’Leary of Minich. “He has a really good skill set playing the post, breaking on the ball. He might have the most picks this spring for us. He’s going to turn into a good player.”

I guess I missed that quote from O’Leary during Spring Ball.

He did run a 10.77 in HS.

Love's PR was a 10.54 on a separate Track & Field site, but in his 24/7 recruiting profile, 10.76 is listed as his fastest time.

Love ran 10.54 at Kansas Relays but wind was over the limit. He also ran 10.63 and 10.70 but only ran in 5 meets as a Sr. The 10.76 is from when he won the State meet as a Soph.

If you run a 10.77, you are really fast. So that's good, whether or not he's the fastest on the team.
Does the measurement suggest he has the highest top speed but not overall top 100m? Maybe takes him a bit to get going.

Anyone know what Ben Mo runs?
I don’t want to get my heart set on him being a 1st rounder then see him run a 4.6 at the combine.

From my casual observation, I don't think BenMo is a burner. My guess would be 4.55-4.6, which may mean he falls during the "pre-draft measurable love fest and ignore all game tape" season.

Yea he did at the Districts, but it was heavily windy (+6.1) in Ohio that day, one guy in another district ran 10.29 and his previous best was 10.70. Same guy also finished last (9th) at States in 10.78.

He's timed at 4.40 at ND, and I expect him to be in the 4.4s range at combine 4.42-4.46

Best of luck to Ben. I’m still incredibly impressed w/ the fact that most of these guys ensure they leave ND w/ that priceless degree in hand. I wish that got more public praise but that doesn’t get as many clicks & likes as calling ND names for choosing not to play in a shitty bowl or the MOU or the USC rivalry or whatever else gets so many folks anxious. ND really does live rent free in the heads of media talking heads & fans of other conferences.

Part of why I think we fans should do it whenever possible. I'm not trying to overstate the difficulty of ND and a division 1 athletics schedule, but I trust that going to ND is a harder path with potential for a better outcome.

Whether through growth, networking, or both, I hope his time at ND has opened up doors to opportunities otherwise unavailable.

Agreed. I remember when MF was hired and made the comment that ND is one of the few programs where players have to go to class. Of course this offended fans of his alma mater but he clarified that he meant they have to physically attend class w/ their classmates vs doing it all online & w/ a tutor. It’s sad that physically going to class is some huge hurdle now.

More importantly, it shows ND truly still attracts “student-athletes”. And it’s become a built-in advantage in that most of these kids are wise enough to know that it’s short sighted to transfer out for bigger money before getting that degree. They’re not going to put in that sweat equity in the classroom & not have anything to show for it. IMO, it’s also a reason we see so many former NFL players’ sons signing w/ ND. They realize they were blessed to have played at the highest level and earn millions. They also aren’t naive to think their son may no have the same talent or is one injury away from not attaining similar success. That ND degree is a helluva fallback…even today.
