I wonder how this will go if Zackery and Blair both give ND their pledge……would they still be able to take Joseph?

I think so. The only corner I'm 100% sure who'll contribute outside for the next two seasons is Grey. There's question marks with everyone else in the portal era.

Full disclosure, I think Golden is a CB but there's a ton of safety talk about him so I'm guessing there's a reason. Zackery is a CB only but probably not P4 ready until '26 at least.

They were expecting Micah Bell for the next 3 to 4 years so at the very least his scholarship is open.

If we get Blair then I assume Joseph won't be a take, right? I'd still take him because I'm not sold on Cree Thomas being a corner and I'd rather have him as a Safety. I'd like to see Joseph as the 3rd corner in the class.

They could move Golden to offense

Take Joseph, Golden's flexible, so is Zackery for that matter.

I don't worry about these things with MM & MF. Go look at Cincy's commits in '18 & '19 and see how they handled the WR/CB/DB/S/ATH's.

He could be a Utility guy on offense much like he's used as a prep. Joseph will visit next week and probably decide in a month, while Blair will decide on July 5th, this could be very interesting. They could take both and then only take 2 in the '26 class, they still need room for 2 LBs (NOB, Faraimo, Nix or Mikgail) and 2 WRs (Meadows/Robinson and Hines) and possibly a PK in Schmidt who's deciding between Wisc/ND.

Could also allow Tae from the previous class to flip over to offense too. Plenty of great athletes to work with

He'll be on campus this weekend, that's all is publicly known right now.

FWIW, it will be his first ever visit to ND.

Not yet. Just a little buzz heading into the weekend. Could be manufactured to get Blair to claim his spot and cancel the rest of the OVs

Source? Not saying I don't believe you, but I'm wondering which outlet is saying this.

Take him and Penson and move Golden over to WR

Completely changes the optics of class

Hard to argue with that. But, Golden at DB (particularly at nickel), gives ND likely the best athlete they've had at the position in a long time.

Also, what message board fans don’t realize, is kids develop relationships with coaches. Golden committed to play for Mickens. Obviously, things happen, but you can’t switch the position you recruited him at before he even gets to ND.

Agree and I'm not usually "stick him on offense" guy

But I just think with the quality and quantity could potentially get at DB this cycle coupled with the opposite situation at WR, it'd make sense in this unique situation

But obviously he would have to be okay with it

And sounds like Ivan Taylor could have the makings of a pretty mean Nickel too

Terrific position to be in as a coaching staff when you have two talented freshman that likely can both start Day 1, so you may need to move one of them to offense.

ND can do things at receiver, but having elite secondaries in modern football is a must.
If ND keeps getting DBs like they are, in a 12 team CFP format, they could be penciled in for a long time.

Yeah I get what you're saying but I'm just not seeing how ND "can do things at receiver" against playoff competition

Elite WR play is a must too

Guess maybe in the portal WR is easier to come by than CB

ND really needs another few elite WR prospects to pair with Cam Williams if they're going to take it to the next level

And its not sounding like any are going to break their way this cycle unfortunately

It will remain the biggest hole on the team

They’d probably be telling Golden he can play DB or WR - which ever he wants.
