How in the hell do you blow a 20 point lead in the second half? Hats off to the T-wolves for not quitting.

Minnesota made absolutely nothing in the first half. Shots started falling and they ramped up the defense.

I don’t think Dallas stands a chance against Minnesota, tbh. The Minnesota-Denver series was going to determine who represents the West in the Finals

Really hope Minnesota comes out of the West. The more I watch Dallas, the less I like them and Luka.
Minnesota is something new and fresh for neutrals, if nothing else. More Anthony Edwards is a good thing. We know Luka's brand.

Ouch! Thar hurt.

Really thought the Celtics would roll in this game, but the Pacers had it until they threw it away, twice! Even though the second youngest team, they have shown that they don't dwell on losses. Hopefully they can steal one Thursday.

Brutal. High fives and celebrations all around when they had the ball and the lead with 10 seconds left. Absolutely cannot believe the events that transpired.

Yeah. As a Celtics fan I turned the game over at that point and went to bed. Whoops.

Same. I was following on my phone in bed and when the Pacers were up three with eight seconds and the ball I turned it off and went to bed. Ha.

Luka and the Mavs take Game 1 at Minny. Luka needs to be in the discussion for best player in the world currently. As good of a scorer as he is, his passing is amazing also. He's become clutch also. Series far from over but big game 1 victory for Dallas.

Except for his defense, Luka reminds me a lot of Bird.

Minnesota really struggled with Dallas' style of play. They also looked tired.

Luka's pre Draft comps were Turkoglu, Kukoc, Rubio, Ginobli and Brandon Roy. I've seen Harden comps but that's the step backs and lack of defense. Harden doesn't drop back far enough into yesteryear, though, so I don't know how that counts. Luka and Bird are both white. That's where it starts and finishes for me.

IDK, I'll admit comps are not my thing. He's Larry Bird, some other white foreign guys, James Harden and Brandon Roy rolled up into what is likely one of the three best players in the world right now. Whatever it takes.

Locked in on Timberwolves when it first posted last night on the money line at (-175)
Draft Kings already has it up to (-205) as of this morning.
I think the Mavs got what they wanted, and know the series is well in their hands now even if they only get the split.

I can't believe nothing else has been reported on Doncic hurt knee going full Curt Schilling bloody sock last night.
The guy must be playing through some serious pain, and still playing like one of the world's best.

His game is so methodical, that he can still get to his spots even with this injury from the looks of it.
What a great player he is.
Still can't believe he went #3 in a draft behind Ayton and Marvin Bagley!!!
The European Bias was still so strong only a few years ago in 2018

You don't think his passing reminds you of Bird? His court awareness of where everyone is? Can't jump, but still gets his shot off. Always manages to get a handful of rebounds?

I haven't given the matter a great deal of thought.

Yeah, if Bird played today his game would look closer to Luka’s. He’d definitely be shooting more 3s and the offense would run through him much more.

He also appreciates today's game and today's player. Far more than many of his counterparts of the same era. I respect him a great deal for being one of few to step out and say positive things about today's players.

"Quit whining about LeBron," Bird said while speaking with NBA TV. "Enjoy him while he's here. He's unbelievable. He's one of the greatest, if not the greatest ever.”

They went away. Overall, they shot a good percentage for the game, but that cold stretch from late in the first into the second is what did them in. Haliburton pulled his hammy again. That doesn't help going forward. This series is over IMO.

Also the Celtics just have too many guys who can hurt you, and stop you. That said, as a C's fan, I hope Halliburton is OK and can keep playing. The Celtics need a challenge before they get to the Finals.

Luka further cements himself as best player in world tonight. Ice cold dagger 3 over Gobert to take game 2 at Minny. Luka is in a different hemisphere currently and is closing in on a ring.

Why am I not surprised?
???

I just adopted the teams my dad likes. The Mavs are the only one I chose lol. I should have just been a bandwagon.

The Twins have won (I think) 3 playoff games in the last 20+ years. Mavs are usually OKish. Flyers have been ass for ages. Steelers have been spinning their tires for a decade.

North Dakota State is collapsing as a school and in athletics.

Notre Dame is what it is.

Dribble dribble dribble travel and hope it goes in. I’m a Luka fan but NBA is getting sort of meh for this old timer.

Ha! I’m with you. I haven’t watched the NBA for years, but have had a chance to catch a few late playoff games this year. The game has become so one-dimensional, it’s hard to watch. The players are as skilled as ever, but they are limited exclusively to two relevant skills: jump shooting and dribbling (which has become over run with traveling and carrying). Very few players are actually skilled basketball players, everyone is a specialist. Of course defense went away 20 years ago, but still worth mentioning how bad it continues to be — so bad that a player with a Toni Kukoc skill set has become an unstoppable force in the League. All that bitching aside, it’s still fairly entertaining. I just hope the European influence runs its course and we get back to American style basketball.
