Wouldn´t Minchey be the best #2 for a RPO/running QB offense?
Staff has to be assuming Leonard will be out at times, and they need play-calling consistency.
Plus Denbrook is an OL guy and knows you can´t switch their mentality around much.

Angeli showed a lot more running capability in the bowl game than i thought he was capable of. He's not far off from Book in that aspect, imo.

I wouldn't assume Minchey is better. He rarely ran in hs.

I think he seems like a decent kid but at the end of the day hes a baseball guy from Texas trying to make it as a rookie on the ND beat with a whole bunch of established ND fan dudes around him

Minchey isn't a running QB, he has the capability to move around the pocket and get some additional yards occasionally with his feet but he's more like Angeli in that regard than Leonard (who you have to account for a lot).

Minchey becoming the second string QB or at some point even starting would be because he has a very good arm, and throws a great ball, then has all the mental intangibles with ok/solid mobility. It won't be because he's a better runner than Carr or Angeli (they are all pretty similar). Leonard is the different one, he's a very very good athlete especially for the QB position.

Here's some free advice to the bolded: It's my opinion that the best on the beat will vet sourced info and make sure it's cleared before posting it. Being first is not always better. And if he's trying to grow a following; then being hyperbolic, quick-triggered, and downright wrong, is a direct road block to his potential success.

I agree. He does seem like a good kid. Wouldn’t be surprised if he circles back to Hunt to apologize. Everyone makes mistakes but now they’re instantly broadcast on social media. That cuts both ways for beat writers.
