It strikes a cord when I see the backwards approach of removing history from the curriculum because of all the world history courses I've taken the one taught with the most "warts and all" was the US. Canada/UK is the most bullshit "We disappeared the natives and they just handed us their stuff woooo go us!".

I think many get in their feelings when they hear something like "the white race isn't real" without actually understanding how it came to be, and that many of us today wouldn't fall under the OG white definition. Saying "whiteness" has it's roots in racism isn't some radical idea it's just the historical fact.
