Lmao Dershowitz is in there like hundreds of times. So is Trump and Clinton. Shame none of them will be prosecuted.

Which Trump reference implies he should be prosecuted? I didn't see anything in there about Trump liking them young.

Heard on the radio that Haley is polling a little better than DeSantis now and is only trailing Donny. It's still a wide margin from Trump to anyone, so it probably doesn't matter if she passes DeSantis or not.

I am getting mailers in NC for Hailey - she is playing the national poll game with her uniparty war chest. I would love to see the demographics of her supporters.

Iowa : President: Republican primary : 2024 Polls

If Hailey gets 1/6th of the caucus I might vomit. What a testament to how broken the Rs are that she can get this level of support.

I am unclear on how the caucus works now, it sounds like a basic vote tally now versus the groupings with minimum thresholds of the past. How does that constitute a caucus when it is really a primary? 15% threshold per location would be awesome with this batch - Desantis, Hailey and Vivek groups would have a ton of debate to hit that mark with Trump supporters motivated to potentially push Vivek over 15% for example.

I’ve participated in two Iowa caucuses.
Democrats go to a school or gym and after each candidates rep gives a pitch, they move physically to an area to support their candidate. If you don’t have enough support, there’s a second draw to go to a viable candidate. Gives alot of room to move from the polls. Also, leads to drama as they don’t have a vote tally. Bernie people were pissed in 2016 because they thought they had more people, but got hosed by the system.

Republicans meet at the church, say a prayer, give a county party speal and pass the hat, then each candidates field leader gets about 2 minutes to give the pitch. Sometimes the pitch is read from prepared remarks, others they just ramble. Rand Paul’s guy was nuts…
Then you vote by writing your candidates name on a post it note and passing it down to the end of the aisle. Votes get counted and tallied. You get what you get. Should be more aligned with polling.

I didn't realize voting in Iowa was so sophisticated. lol

Tough to call a person sane who doesn't support laws against removing genitals and breasts from children
Even if this was a not a trivial matter (sorry blue haired pussy hat wearers) - talking about kid dicks is not something that people want to be constantly flogged with. That can't sell well with voters "hmmm this guy is really obsessed with talking about kid dicks" and then they go an look up the epidemic and find out it's happening at about the same rate as lightning strikes. Leaves most people with a pulse the feeling that these people are just really obsessed with kid dicks.

Of course, Joe $70K in rural Ohio is affected by about 105432523 different issues before worrying about some top surgery.

Respectfully, this is the opinion of an urban Canadian left of center guy. Not a rural or ( in my case) rural adjacent American.

I dont disagree that it doesn't impact large groups of society. Obviously it is a relatively small group. But the way I look at things, if you have objectively wrong and disgusting views on the most basic of things, I can't trust you to handle more nuanced and complicated issues that require more than a room temp (fahrenheit) IQ.

FWIW, the legislature in Ohio, largely representing Joe $70k just overrode the governor's veto on that very subject.

Its a 70/30 (or greater) issue. These are layups that you can't miss.

For sure - but, objectively if you're making a pillar of your platform focused on something that's most likely being done only in the most liberal of areas you come off as sex pervert to the broad majority.

Think of it this way, progressives often come off as preachy nutjobs who are hyperfocused on ridiculous things because every little thing is this great injustice. Why not let progressives piss their pants about every little issue. When you have guys who sound like they've come off the set of Deliverance talking about kid dicks that doesn't message well.

There's a literal empty husk sack of bones that has to eat prechewed food that they can focus on, but instead of the Matt Walsh's of the world are trying to push kid dicks onto everyone. Wild. Can't wait to see the resolution passed on umbrellas at parks to reduce lightning strike injuries.

It doesn't happen only in the most liberal areas though. It happens mostly there I presume.

It doesn't need to be a big part of the platform for it to be disqualifying. I expect candidates I vote for to make lay-ups. If you miss uncontested lay-ups, I will leave the circle blank when I fill out my ballot. Child abuse is one of those lay-ups.

There is a difference between being some blue haired weirdo obsessed with trans stuff and being the normie Chad who says "lol no." The focus there should be on the former rather than the latter. And said Chad shouldn't be penalized as being "obsessed" or "fixated" or whatever for making it part of the platform

Low and high IQ people come in all shapes, sizes, and ideologies. State and local politics can get particularly wild. Would strongly encourage everyone to get more involved. There are some goofballs out there that wouldn't be in office if people did.

It's not really a part of any platform though. It's not "We're going to trans your kids" vs "We want to protect your kids", of course the sensible pick would be on the "protecting kids" message.

There really shouldn't be a focus on kid dicks at all. Imagine if Biden started talking about kid dicks? That would be creepy as fuck.

It's a shame for conservatives that the abortion stuff went through because the kid dick messaging doesn't hit quite as hard as "they want to kill babies".

Yeah I looked up what he had actually said on the matter and it’s much more pro small government and parental involvement than it is pro chopping off kids dicks.
“I don’t think that the government should ever be stepping into the place of the parents in helping to move their children through a process where those children are confused or concerned about their gender,” said Christie, who launched his 2024 presidential bid earlier this month. “The parents are the people who are best positioned to make these judgments.”

“What I’d like to make sure each state does is require that parents be involved in these decisions,” he continued, later adding: “Folks who are under the age of 18 should have parental support and guidance and love as they make all of the key decisions of their life, and this should not be one that’s excluded by the government in any way.”

“It’s more of a parent’s decision than a governor’s decision for goodness sakes, Brian,” Christie said. “You really think that Sarah Huckabee Sanders should be making this decision for children in Arkansas?”

“I love Sarah. I think she’s a great person and a really good governor,” he added. “But I don’t think she would ever allow the government to substitute her judgment as a mother for their judgment.”
Idk seems pretty reasonable. The slippery slope is always a republican talking point unless it’s in relation to something they disagree about.

It's not pro small government to let parents and doctors mutilate and abuse children

Remember when gay marriage was going to be a slippery slope, and Democrats acted like that was insane? Now we're on to child genital mutilation, furries, 37 genders, and government-funded freakshows like this.

1. You keep talking about kids dicks, but never mention girls. Obsession?
2. It is a real small percentage of kids, but comparing to lightening strikes is wrong. These are human beings and as has been said so many times before, kids are no where near developed physically and mentally to make this decision. I have a hard time understanding why any parent would be willing to support any changes until their kid is at least 18. We've already seen some examples where kids regret making the change.
3. What makes you think someone is obsessed with kids dicks? Is it the only thing they are campaigning on? If so, then I agree, but if it's just one subject amongst many I don't see that as an obsession.
