Biggest approval rating for Congress is the jump from '99-'01 where it went from 37%-72%. After Sept 11th it quickly dropped again into the 40s and then 20s which had been the norm previously. Since 2010 Congress dropped below 20% though and they remained in the teens ever since aside from a short bump a few years ago. It's a sorry state, way too much bickering on both sides and partisan attacks.

Trump asked for it in the days leading up to his leaving. It was never returned. I believe that is correct from the reporting. He tried for a while to get as much of the intel from the Russia investigation as he could be this binder was reportedly so sensitive that even people with the highest clearance had to view it at the CIA and was kept under lock and key. Again that’s what the reporting is. Not my opinion. If so and he was provided it because he was the president and it wasn’t returned …. Sounds like it could be pretty bad. I’m sure many people will not worry about it but the Senate intel committee was briefed on its disappearance two years ago. Lol

Why is this just coming out now, two years later? You would think it would have been reported with all of the other stuff he had at his home.

This year will be really bad iMO. Hopefully bad enough to wake people up to the nonsense…one can dream. Dems may be souring on Biden but when polled there’s no way in hell they’d vote for Trump which makes sense. This is why I’m confident Biden will not run and it’ll be Newsome. Not sure how they bypass Kamala but they’ll find a way.

I can't imagine an identity-based party denying a black woman like that. They all know deep down she is terrible and unqualified. But they can't say that. Leaping a black woman for a white man in that party would be a tough move.

Just go back to 2008. Obama actually trailed Hillary with black voters until after he won largely white Iowa. Black dems tend to be more pragmatic and worry about losing.

Also per the focus group people the Pol that far and away wins over black voters is Gretchen Whitmer. She's far and away the odds on favorite to win the next contested primary.

The polls dont mean a damn thing until they start accurately reporting GenZ and Millennial voters. These two demos voted overwhelmingly Democratic the last two elections (30+ points), turned out near 5-10% higher the last two elections than the next highest turnout in 30 years, and they have been vastly and even incorrectly underrepresented in polls. It also doesn't help with these groups when your policies are pretty much the opposite of what you would want if you are young, sexually active, social media consuming highly individualistic and empathetic young people.
Also the GOPs current tactics of making it harder to vote in every conceivable way doesn't impact these two demos as they are just as capable of mailing in as they are standing in line in the one precinct allotted to them on their college campuses, even with a 5 hour wait, lack of ballots, inability to provide or receive water/snacks from poll workers. They will vote.

I'll add that if the GOP has any hope of offsetting the huge overall voting gap its gonna have to come from the Hispanics.
