There needs to be some level of commitment. For the vast majority of these kids not nfl bound it’s gonna be hard to take care of your academics well if you’re hopping around each year. Not sure it’s best for the student end although most people no longer care about that.

90% of the athletes aren’t student athletes to begin with. They are athletes the attend some classes.

Yeah, I would say don't confuse ND's student player's perspective with the Football Factory student player's perspective - They're not the same. But yes, it does seem very disruptive but when you see the path to the NFL and to a large extent, NIL payout, the means serves the end and players will move around. Hopefully some student players (the smart ones) realize that all this stuff is fleeting and jumping around too much and never getting a degree are not good in the long run. But yeah, too late to turn back from the free market now. And hey, ND is benefiting from it, BUT doing it with smart players who are mostly coming to ND after 3-4 years (and their degree) from one previous school. We have seen that the chronic TP-ers in many cases never work out anywhere. Don't worry, a good old fashion market downturn will make a lot of these chronic portal-ers rethink this approach.

A couple months-ish before signing day I was walking out of a grocery store wearing an ND shirt having a good day. Some random screamed haha we're stealing Peyton Bowen, I turned around and he gave me the old get f'd shrug.

Keep in mind I live in Austin, TX with a large group of intense Texas fans. Oklahoma never registered on my radar prior to that day. Now when I see an Oklahoma score on the ticker or they're playing on TV, my UT buddies have to calm me down from the visceral hate I wish upon that program in those moments. They can burn in a dumpster fire in a miserable fashion only second to that program residing in a dirty whore town named Ann Arbor. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

I would agree with that. It’s that balance you have to strike between your recruited guys and the available guys you likely *could* get in the portal.
