When this easy transfer concept came up in combination with the pay-for-play going out in the open, I felt that college football might not be able to regain its balance. Now along comes the second idea multiplying: that it's just Okey dokey to abandon your team in the bowl in order to preserve your upcoming paycheck. This season this triple combo has slapped me in the face. This is turning most bowls into jokes. Why even bother? Even for our team, it is in no way going to be Notre Dame against Oregon State. And if this is happening to OUR culture, how is it not going to happen to almost anyone who plays with high quality athletes?

I'll watch some of the games and hope somehow I'm wrong ... but Lord this seems a mockery of bowl season.

Josh Kelly (Wash St) has added a trip to Utah to his scheduled trip to Texas Tech next week according to On 3. Looks like we're not getting this one.

Add to that the high school players commitments don’t mean a lot. Nor does actually getting signed and being at the University with 3 or 4 years to go. Transfers coming in with 1 year at least seem secure for that year.

Yeah, remember those newbies, Braylon and Rico? They barely got their uniforms dirty and they're already on their way out.

If we can land Mitchell plus Collins that is already a huge upgrade. Even with Mitchell coming I think the WR room is upgraded.
Mitchell> Chris Tyree
Healthy Colzie> Merriweather
Cam Williams >any WR on the roster currently

lol yeah sure Ivan Taylor who committed the other week is the highest rated cornerback ND has gotten in a class since 2006. Ordinarily people would be raving about this but it barely made a ripple.

Need some contracts being signed to stop the insanity. This perpetual free agency has to be reined in. Not even the NFL does that.

For these big time transfers like Dante Moore and the TAMU kids, I am curious of how much cash from the recruiting NIL process actually hit their bank accounts.

Evan Stewart (5 star WR, 2022) said he never got a single dollar in NIL money @ TAMU.

Hear ya Dublin.
I raved about Taylor because i think he'll be similar caliber to Hamilton/ Watts on the back end.

MF's emphasis is still hs players and development. Portal fills immediate holes.

And then some lawsuits for beach of contract. Still want to be treated and paid like a grownup?

This is interesting because while everyone thinks Elko will be able to reload quickly via the portal, if the word is our that TAMU isnt trustworthy, that might hurt their chances of landing players.

It’d be beneficial for both parties, semi pro’s make sure they get paid and schools get a 4 yr guarantee
