Agreed. The P5 right now has five unbeaten teams and four with one loss. That changes after Ohio State vs Michigan this weekend, but still.

I view it more along the lines of .... while Freeman believes that Angeli or Minchey could do a good job (and has belief in), why not throw your fishing line out there to see what you could pick up in the offseason. If a significant upgrade can be had, you do it.

It will be interesting to see if Freeman adds a 4th QB if they aren't an upgrade.

My gut tells me he doesn't. I think the whole "we need a full QB room" just gave Freeman enough cover to go deep sea fishing. You never know, you might catch a trophy fish.

Good point. While Angeli has looked capable, he's got a whopping total of 24 pass attempts - all against inferior competition and in mop up duty. Minchey has 2. Point being, they're still largely unproven. MF would be crazy not to shop around and see who else is out there.

That said, I do like Angeli's style of play, however. He doesn't appear to be "overly coached" to a detriment...he looks comfortable and decisive in his style of play.

I don’t believe we’ll be at 4 very long. Someone will transfer.

The thing to like about Angeli isn’t so much that he looked good in “garbage time” per se. In my opinion it’s the traits he’s shown and what he has done situationally.

He’s got a smooth throwing motion, throws a beautiful ball, has been really accurate with his placement, looks automatic on short throws, looked good throwing on the run and on that TD against Wake he threw a perfect pass with a defender in his face on a play he checked into at the line.

He’s also big and pretty mobile and I’m thinking he’s only gonna get stronger. Lots of potential there. We’ll see.

Yeah we need to see some extended action from Angeli before deciding how to address the portal this time around. Hope its this week

Funny we talk about Howard as a transfer, in my limited viewing of both, I thought they were similar. Am I way off?? I honestly don't know
