- Who has 1 more yr and will they be
invited back?
- Who has eligibility but might leave early?
- Who are most likely to hit the portal?

Alt and Estime seem most likely (probably only?) truly early departures for the draft (i.e. juniors). Fisher could but probably shouldn’t.

There’s a bunch of guys with eligibility remaining but who’ve already spent four/five years in college. Most of our defense, it feels like, plus Tyree. Will be curious to see how that shakes out.

I don’t like speculating on transfers but anyone who’s been passed on the depth chart by younger players is an obvious candidate.

Alt, Estime & Hart should leave early.

All 3 LB have one year left but I suspect all 3 will move on. Same w/ Zeke Correll

Evans & Watts may put in for an NFL grade but I hope they come back.

Would love to have Cross back but he’s likely worked his way into a late draft choice & there’s probably not a lot he can do to improve that in a sixth season.

Yeesh Evans is in his third year? Feels like he just showed up. Would hate to lose him. Watts too.

With Cross, Correll and the LBs, they kind of are what they are. Botelho, too. They're not likely to get meaningfully better. None will be high picks but could make a roster as a late round/UDFA type. Or they stick around.
Probably depends on how much they enjoy starting on a good college football team vs. being the fringe of the NFL, how ready they are to move on with life, and how much they make in NIL. I'd think for some guys, getting $100K to play college football isn't a bad life.

Bolded who I think will return (pure guess). Mills, Cross, and Hart need bags thrown at them to get them to stay. As good as Hart has been, I don’t see teams fawning over him in the NFL. I think Cross’s draft grade won’t get any higher, but low enough a serious NIL package should convince him.

Thing about Hart is he’s had 3 shoulder surgeries. He’s stated he wants to leave after this year and may end up doing enough to be a mid round pick. I have zero doubt he will declare.

I think Hart goes. Dude has been through many injuries. Honestly, who wants to stay in college for 6 years?

I want one of Marist or JD to return. None of our LBs are great but losing all 3 is a lot and we play Texas A&M game one.
Agree but Sneed, Jaiden Ausberry, Bowen, zinter, Ziegler, and AsA is going be a good group. Bowen, Ausberry, Sneed, and Asa are all fast as hell

They project to be good but none of them have really done anything or shown the ability to play the position as a three down player at the college level on a consistent basis. I’d expect Sneed to take another step but it would be ideal to have someone more experienced playing next to him.

For all the pissing and moaning about Marist he has improved a bunch since last year and assuming Golden stays he could be great next year in the same scheme if he continues to grow.

I get that, but I think that’s why he should be enticed to stay. I think those shoulder injuries will make him unattractive come draft time. I’d love to be wrong because he’s been excellent this year and he deserves his shot, but if he’s getting a 6th or 7th round grade, boosters need to step in if Hart is up for it

On their most recent podcast, the II guys talked briefly about the Portal this off-season for ND.

Prister believes ND will exceed the number of transfer they brought in this year (8), and that he expects "significant" roster transformation - more-so than last year.

He touched on it briefly but from what he is hearing and what he expects, there are many seniors with a season of eligibility remaining that won't use it. Most just want to move on and try their luck in the NFL.

They spoke nothing of underclassmen, but you have to figure that there are some current juniors that likely won't be a part of the program next season.

You two have not been paying attention to Harts NFL stock. I have seen multiple reports that Hart is on the rise on draft boards. He is listed as a top 100 draft pick on majority of draft boards. If his medicals pass, due to his shoulder, he is a lock as a day 2 pick. He has size 6’2” and should test really well if not off the charts for his size. He is also putting out great film this year.

Long story short don’t expect Cam to be back in 2024. If he can stay healthy the remainder of the year and his medical checks out Cam Heart will be a day 2 pick with an outside chance as a late first round.

Hopefully if they are gonna bring in a ton of transfers they are guys who can make an immediate impact not just a warm body.

Cam would fit perfectly in the Colts scheme and they like long corners like Juju Brents. I could totally see him in Indy.
