Is he in front of or behind Braylon James on the depth chart?
I mean, anything can happen and Braylon can go wild this off season, but I'd expect him to be ahead of James. I've been saying it for a while here, there's not a WR I'd trade Cam Williams for. He's going to be a monster and will be playing right away.

My biggest thing is they need another top flight receiver to go along with Cam Williams. Do they hit the transfer portal?

They'll probably need 2 from the portal. You can't bank on Williams being a day 1 game breaker and you can't trust Tobias turning it up a notch.

Did anyone forget we have Greathouse, Thomas, and Flores on roster? Thomas still has two years of elgibility after this year.

So what I’m hearing you say is we don’t get anyone from the portal because the coaches like the room and also two of our current WRs transfer.

yes and they all have really good hands and are good route runners but none of them have that ability to catch a 10 to 15 yd pass and then take 50 plus yds for a score like Cam Williams
We have a guy like that Chris Tyree and we target him twice a game only

He could probably start for us today, kid is college ready.
Ryan on a monday IB recruiting podcast last month i believe was talking about him having another huge season like his junior year and said if you wanted to call him the best WR in the nation in the 24 class that he wouldn't argue with you.

LOL. Of course IB would say this nonsense. He is a very good receiver but he is not in the same league as the two committed to OSU and a few others. The Football in the West Burbs is not the same as Texas or Florida football too. I think if he contributes like Greathouse this year then great. He is not a Program changing WR.... the biggest issue in this offense is the Coaching and Play Calling, anyways. The talent is already there.

BTW, does anyone on IB argue anything against ND recruits or Freeman, ever?

I'm not so sure about that. Have you seen Cam's recent film? I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

look i know most of you dislike Driskell and i understand why but Ryan isn't him and i trust his judgement when it comes to recruiting.

Ryan may be better than most but he still doesn't push back on unrealistic upside statements on ND recruits. Thats my point. He may have the knowledge, but he never pushes back.

Cam is not the best WR in the class. He is a great recruit but not nearly the best WR. This class is loaded.

maybe he isn't but he has the speed and talent to be the difference in beating the likes of USC, OSU, scUM

Cam Williams is easily one of the best WR's in this class overall.

I don't get how this take is even close to going out on a limb. It's a loaded class, but Williams is showing why he is among the best in said loaded class.

His combination of speed, athleticism and ability to change direction all while having the length to make contested catches with a wider catch radius, it's all top level.

Also, really don't get the whole competition argument. Glenbard isn't Texas or Florida, okay. It's not Montana or Rhode Island either. It's solid competition and really who cares? If the film shows his ability to run excellent routes, speed past guys and adjust to the ball, that's what matters. Most players are going to have to adjust to a massive jump in competition.
