Just run the ball under 4 mins is all you had to do. And we were doing it well. It cost us at least 60 seconds

Parker’s fault since he calls the plays. But, MF is not without criticism.

Don’t disagree. But all we have heard since Freeman has been hired was we are gonna run the ball. Well god damn it run the ball when it mattered the most. We were moving the ball effectively. And Freeman needs to have the balls to say no we are only running the ball end of story.

Have to wonder WWALD on that last offensive drive...

That's Andy Ludwig for those keeping score at home.

Almost 3 quarters before we were on the board, basically the same score from Columbus last year but with Hartman instead of Buchner at QB and better receivers. Parker blew it. Run the ball after that last 1st down, and OSU has no timeouts and can't avoid the 10 second runoff from the intentional grounding. Instead we keep throwing and stop the clock for them.

Way too much learning on the job at nd… Rees, now Parker. Too many coaches that have not been successful. Washington as an example … it’s not shocking they aren’t good at what they do in a big game

I don’t disagree. But Freeman had the ability to stop it and chose not too. 2nd year head coach should be putting his football to the first year OC that many thought was a questionable hire.

His overall game plan wasn’t bad. But the last 4 mins of the 4th were stupid.

No need to take a chance with a pick. We were running the ball at will.
Honestly I don’t mind the screen call once you’re behind the sticks. It was there and would have sealed the game if Hartman throws the ball 1 inch higher or 1 second earlier. The DE just made a great play. People bitch about MF not playing to win on the final defensive series. Well that screen play was a play to win.

The real issue was first down. Whatever the fuck that was supposed to be killed us.

Agree completely… some slow handoff read option when they’re selling out to stop run was moronic. I get it was working earlier but osu had to all out stop run

There's no way OSU lets us run the clock out there.
The screen was perfect call that goes for 6 if Hartman can just execute.

Anyone who’s hating on Parker can go fly a kite the dude had a good game calling plays minus the last drive. With Rees and Kelly you woulda gotten rush rush rush right up the middle and punt all night

2 plays earlier we ran for 11 on first down … yeah screen pass could have worked but it should have never been needed if Parker didn’t get cute. The issue isn’t the screen pass, it’s the call before that

Hartman had worried eyes for half the game. Would have liked to see him sprint with his hair on fire for those two fourth down turnovers

14 points and Hartman didn’t excecute on 2 4th and 1’s that’s not Parker’s Fault. Also 14 points against 3 NFL 1st rounders on the DL and another corner projected early second round is pretty good. We moved the ball really well

The point is run plays would have forced them to call their timeouts and run some more clock. The timeout that we didn't make them take was critical to preventing the 10 second runoff on the final series.

Yep. I'm not there yet, mentally, to watch it again but that play was the killer. Not sure what was going on but it seemed like Hartman ate it rather than risk a fumble. Then their all-world DE made an incredibly athletic play on the screen pass, but it was a fine call.

You don't know how the least drive would've gone with 20-30 less seconds.
You're assuming because they scored with one second left they wouldn't have had time.
The last minute would've been played completely different.

I welcome a coach with balls to go for the kill over one that plays not to lose.

Can someone please get in touch with this dude and teach him that QB sneaks are like 90+% successful on 4th and 1. Dear lord. I thought we finally had this figured out ever since we installed the Mitchell Evans sneak package.

Same thing with the OSU jet sweep on 4th down. Incredibly stupid on their part.

If we convert that overturned 4th down in the first, for example, I think this ends up being a completely game. Yeah, ifs and buts, but also, just do the proven thing.

Has Gerad actually attempted a Mitchapaloooza as OC? I don’t think he has.
