I sat 3rd row south end zone for UGA. Totally surrounded by red. Very annoying. What was worse was those idiots yelling go Dawgs and barking outside the stadium before the game.

Think we're lucky this is a "down" year for OSU and theres a ton of excitement around this ND football team. If this was the middle of last year, it might have been a different story.

This might be their worst team since 2013. Are you really gonna spend $500+ on that when you're in the playoff every other year?

DraftKings got back up to Notre Dame +3.5 -110
I had to take a bite at that number.
Very interested to see where this number closes and how it fluctuates over the next couple days.

I think this is what it boils down to. ND has played OSU in bowls under Weis and Kelly. They made a trip to ND in 1996. I think ND fans are reinvigorated because of Freeman and would want to be in the stands when ND wins the game.

2017 was the first and only time UGA had ever come to South Bend. Prior to 2000, Nebraska hadn't been to South Bend since 1947. Those people are nuts about football to begin with and were going to pay outrageous amounts for tickets.

I'm liking how this is all lining up.

They've been pretty lucky to catch us during some mostly mediocre years while we've ended up facing good to very good OSU teams in the last 5 matchups. '95-'96 they had a Heisman winning RB while Holtz was nearing the end of his career and was getting pushed out and limited by the administration. The '05 Fiesta Bowl was competitive, but the defense gave up too many yards and we struggled to finish drives against that stout Tressel D. '15 Fiesta was more of the same, defense was awful especially losing Jaylon early. Last year was probably the most competitive and we had a 1st time starter at QB along with a 1st time HC.

'05 and last year were the closest games and probably the strongest Irish teams to face the Buckeyes, but in all 5 matchups OSU was clearly the more complete team. They probably still have more talent this time around, certainly at WR and a few other positions, but I think we're more proven and experienced. They're still favored, but this is probably the best chance we've had in my lifetime when it comes to a matchup with OSU.

We're overdue for a win. Hopefully the boys end the streak.

On 11 Warriors they have a tickets thread. And some guys were openly complaining about ND making it hard to get tickets on the secondary market.

Sampson is writing an article on it that is supposed to be coming out early this week.
Good. Fuck them

Got to get pressure on McCord with 4 bc you have to account for 3 possible first round picks at WR. McCord is prone to mistakes but have to somehow get pressure with 4 guys to not give up coverage. Hartman has to make some plays with his legs as well as his arm imo. Obviously Sam needs protection. I think the two tackles for Ohio State are new if I’m not mistaken. Generate pressure on the edges perhaps.

I got a feeling Golden is going to consistently gas up McCord and just pray the back end holds up.

Agree when we go with 4 we need pressure, but I think showing and rushing 3, or showing and actually rushing 5-6 is the ticket.

He can have 7 1st rounders but if he's getting pressure 2 seconds in, he only has time for one read, one 1st rounder.

I'd say the 2015 team was clearly better than last year, and I'd probably choose the 15 team over 05 as well on personal preference.

Any idea on the crowd? It’s going to be an ND home game not right?

Key to the game imho. McCord is a first year starter but he is no slouch and has a few games under his belt. Give him time and he will light up the scoreboard with the excellent receivers he has.

Agree, They may have better overall talent, but we have the better player at the most important position.

He’s no slouch, but this is his first BIG game, on national TV and on the road with a lot of hype. We’ll see how he holds up.

I was at both. There was so many Georgia fans it was sick. From a personality standpoint the Georgia fans were pretty cool, a number of them asked about gameday traditions and followed us around. Quite a few came to check out Trumpets Under the Dome. From a cleanliness standpoint they were the absolute messiest fanbase I've ever seen...the campus was littered with broken beer bottles and cans the likes of which I've never seen.

The only negative I had with a Georgia fan that day came during the actual game. A drunk blond coed behind me was constantly screaming profanities, she was kneeing me in the back, and she'd yell out "CHUBBY CHUBB CHUBB CHUUUUBBBBB!!" every offensive play, even when Sonny Michel was in. I think I documented it in the post game thread.

That’s like most SEC campuses, unfortunately. West Virginia in 2011 was the worst I’ve ever seen though. I’m not sure about the other schools, but LSU brings in prisoners like at 4 or 5 AM Sunday morning and the place is spotless and the prisoners are gone before you have your first cup of coffee.

How are they getting this info in regard to OSU fans struggling to get tix? All off-season, everyone was saying it was going to be an absolute invasion.

Funny you say that.

I distinctly remember many people at Alabama clutching their pearls when Penn State came to town, and their messy fans left a landfill of broken bottles, garbage, etc littered everywhere in the tailgate areas.

In my experience, the B1G has by far the least respectful and messiest fans.

I was at the 2005 Bush Push Game and that felt obnoxious. I can't even imagine what UGA was like.
still remember my dad getting offered tickets from a coworker that Friday and him rushing home to tell me the news that we were going. Although that game wasn’t how we wanted it to end. The excitement of finding out my dad and I spontaneously going to thee game is the reason why I hopefully do the same with my son one day.

Anyways back to the UGA fans… I had a good experience with them but my goodness the barking is annoying AF

Game will come down to turnovers...if ND protects the ball like they have been they win fairly easily...if not we likely lose a close but competitive game.

Im actually ok with this. Pressure the young kid, throw in some zone blitzes, play to your strength and try to force him into quick decisions and making some mistakes. Being unpredictable will be the key.

I don't know about that. 2015 team had some weapons on offense, but that defense without Jaylon was real meh. 44 points given up and 500 yards of offense. The other two games we were at least better defensively, especially last year.
