Yea I think Urban is gonna get another one of our stud recruits...O well with or without Omar, this is a great class. He is a monster though..I'm hearing rumors CW will now focus on getting a certain former UM DT...

the blog part was what i thought was interesting, especially the quote about the Florida coaches recruiting another kid, at the bottom.

Florida and Urban BITCH are a bunch of bottom feeders. and they do nothing but say negative things about ND and their recruiting. I'm so glad he's not our coach. He's a pompous asshole. Merry f/ing xmas urban. I FART in your general direction.

Here here. Good post Clausen2Kamara. well said. And I heard that were looking at that Martin kid from Michigan. So Urban may steal Omar from us BUT were maybe stealing one right back. HA HA HA

theres nothing we can do about the omar situation. Just sit back and see what happens. If he wants to leave the Irish and go to florida where Urban may be leaving soon. Let him. If he wants to be a J.Trattou, the littles, then let him, we dont need him if he doesnt want to come here. Just restock!!

Ok people so if this guy does not want to be at N.D. 100% then what is the bid deal if he leaves? Me personally, I want players at N.D. that want to play for the IRISH! So if he doesn't want to be here than good luck to him wherever he lands.

Its not like Omar is our only NT recruit we have...Newman could be very good one...Like an above poster said, if he doesn't wanna be here than let him go...We want kids that bleed the blue and gold and not the ones who change their minds every few weeks...Cuz those are usually the ones IMO that take plays off and think they are bigger than the team..

This kid deserves the time to be able to make the hardest decision of his life to date. I respect the fact that he wants to do that- just be sure. I would rather he choose to attend a different school then feel pressured into coming here, being uhappy, then transferring somewhere else next year. I, like everyone else, realize what a phenomenal talent he is, and really want him to come here, but I'd rather he was confident in his decision.

As far as "poaching", goes, seems like some of you are being a tad hypocritical, no? I mean- Brian Smith, Trevor Robinson, Jonas Gray, Datone Jones and Gerrelle Robinson to name a few. I know, I know, some of these kids were wavering in commitments. You can claim it's not the same thing, but it is. Poaching is part of the process.

IrishinTn, get a few facts straight Trevor Robinson, Jonas Gray Gerrelle Robinson have or had de-commited before visiting N.D. So their for it's not the same thing. Brian Smith told Kirk Farentz he wanted to visit N.D. and was told that if he did they would pull his scholarship. Dantone Jones is a soft commit to UCLA right now who commited to another coaching staff. So how is this anything like Omar visiting Fla., without decommiting from N.D. first it's not.

Well I for one am a big fan of Charlie's "if you're looking we're looking" policy. Last year ND crossed their fingers and hoped a kid would pick them over whoever else. We saw what happened with that.

This year CW and CB wasted little time in going after Martin when this Omar situation came up. I like it. I like it a lot. Not only does it give ND another option at DT but it also reminds young Omar that he is ONE member of ONE recruiting class of ONE university's program.

He seems like a great kid on top of being a great player, but that 5th star and the attention from Meyer and Carroll is a lot to handle for an 18 year old kid.

Here's to wishing Omar the best but I think he's gone

Brian Smith was not poached. TRob and Gray were not poached, as there was a coaching change.

If he wasn't "poached", then what did you consider his recruitment then? Just wondering what you consider poaching and what you don't. Whether or not we had offered him a scholarship or not, he was commited to another school. Don't whine about other schools doing it to us, while we're doing the same thing.

I can't believe you would accuse CW of poaching. In Robin Hood's day, they would throw a dude in jail for stealing someone else's meat.

Whether Brian Smith was poached could be argued either way.

His dad said he sent film to ND in summer of 2006 but they weren't interested. Then Charlie hired Corwin, who re-evaluated Brian's film and an offer followed. ND was Brian's dream place to be but he was an Iowa commit. Similar to the Jonas Gray situation.

------Also Brian was already looking at other schools like KSU so his dad sent his Sr. film to ND again and CB loved it. His dad reached out to us behind Brians back...we don't poach. Weis has stated that if a commit lets the team he is committed to know that he's going to visit ND then it's ok....he doesn't want to be a sneaky f*ck like Urbdouche Liar

Exactly... Brian was a guy who ALWAYS wanted to go to ND..If he had a ND offer, there would be no doubt that he would have chose ND over Iowa. He is an ND guy through and through.

guys, i think he's just gonna make the trip to be with his teammate and friend pridemore...if you all think he isn't irish, try going to my-space and looking up his profile...the most awesome background i've seen in awhile...i think his high school coach is trying to do a little back tracking too...can't remember where i saw his (hs coach) quote but he was trying to do a little damage control...BUT, i still don't trust that damn myer bastard a bit so...

Sigh. Semantics. Okay, you're right. This only ever happens with other programs. Guys, I'm not suggesting there is even anything wrong with it, for God's sake. I'm saying it's part of the game. So you are going to tell me once these guys committed our coaching staff never talked to them again?

It's big time college football recruiting. It happens. Peter Vaas was texting and e-mailing Benn every hour to try and get him to come to ND before enrolling at Illinois. I'm not saying Charlie and company do it as often as Urban does, but it does happen. To argue otherwise would say that you don't know how the world works in this business

How about this before we start losing our patience with Omar......Just wait and see what happens. Unless is comes from HIS mouth or he decommits from us, then we dont know anything other than rumors and speculation. I say hes still irish and will be. But thats just my hunch.

Hey 88, we love your optimism. But an ND facebook aside....... judging from comments made by his coach, other recruits, and his lack of a strong statement of confirmation.......it ain't looking good baby. Therefore, it would be natural for some to mentally move on, and look at plan B.
