In reviewing 2024 Schedule… if ND can land another experienced QB in portal, I think next year’s schedule looks quite a bit easier. The respective QBs will be gone from USC and FSU. TAMU is always possibly beatable. Many other opponents look weak. 10 plus wins is possible.

Any transfer QB would be dying to come here Hartmans probally made more money in endorsements then all 5 years combined at WF

Still I think it’s a way easier schedule than this year. Am I wrong? In this opinion?

Can we take a transfer and not expect half our QBs to transfer?

That’s just business now. You always have to be looking to improve the QB room, and it doesn’t matter if someone’s feelings get hurt in the process. They learned this harsh reality last year.

if we took a transfer for ‘24 (which would be a yes for me if it’s a top level guy like with Hartman.) you’d probably see Angeli leave, but I think we’d keep Minchey and Carr as they know they’d still need to develop and be in a legit comp come ‘25.

That is the risk. But if we have a shot at a Hartman type QB it is hard to pass up.
100% Agreed. Listen to Urban Meyer...ND should have the best QBs - equal to OSU's QB Room. I am sorry. Angeli, Soph Minchey and Frosh CJ Carr are not worth missing an opportunity to go 10-2 minimum if not 11-1 or 12-0 with a great QB. Schedule in 2024 is much better than 2023.

CJ Carr is the only QB worthy to be concerned about. He is a Frosh. Doing a transfer in 2025 would be risky.

You know they’ve got talent, and Petrino is a great coach — significantly better than Jimbo. They are so unpredictable though. They are like that crack head who couldn’t find his stuff and had to resort to huffing or something to get his fix. Scary and unpredictable.

Notre Dame should at least go shopping in the portal though. Couldn’t hurt.

Are there any rumors about who the 12th game will be?

Weigman looked great in game 1, and A&M's record recruiting class will be juniors next year. Baring an implosion, they should be a legit NC contender next year.

Agree with this 110%. Freeman understands you have to have a stud qb to win a title. Just too many good teams. May the best man win the job every time.

On one of the recent II podcasts they said that Freeman will never make the same mistake he made last season. Basically, unless Freeman is very comfortable with Angeli or Minchey he'll be looking to add a QB in the portal.

The only thing I don't like about Angeli is he isn't much of a runner outside the pocket but neither is Hartman

Think he can be productive college qb, but not sure about him taking us to where we want to go ultimately. Next year's qb situation will be interesting for sure.
