Mitch, Feinstein, Biden, Fetterman should all be replaced. They've all shown deficiencies, there's no reason they should be in positions of power representing our country. I'm still for everyone being ineligible for re-election at 70, even though some officials have shown to be cognizant and sharp past that point.

Who is saying they can't be an advisor and king maker? The whole Fetterman thing is an indictment on the voting process - he was a known vegetable walking in and PA is so blue they will vote a ham sandwich in to office over any republican. That makes it the DNC's fault for making a mockery of elections. They have the machine so well oiled its almost like Fetterman was a test to see how impenetrable their harvesting machine is.

I agree. Regardless of how sharp you still are, time to step down and enjoy the perks that you get for the rest of your life.

Being an advisor is fine, but not an elected official.

His name was already on the ballots wasn't it? He had his stroke like 2 days before their primary. What were they supposed to do?

You're really going to be upset when you hear about all the politicians that have won elections whilst being dead.

I think you're letting the voters off the hook. They knowingly voted for a head of cabbage over a guy who was competent.

At some point, you have to look past the obvious bs thats being presented to you.

Dr. Oz is competent? At what, hawking snake oil? I agree. I’m going to ignore this obvious bullshit that’s being presented to me. I would have voted for an actual head of cabbage before voting for Oz.

Thank you for proving my point. An actual head of cabbage over a fully functioning adult.

Yeah, competent might be toos strong a word. GOP definitely backed the wrong horse in that race. Any other candidate might have beaten Fetterman.

Dr. Oz is absolutely competent relative to the guy who can't communicate with any human older than three years old.

Dr. Oz also was a deeply flawed candidate who lost because Doug Mastriano was top of the ticket...and to a lesser extent, because the big ogre was able to hide in his basement.

If the Dems replaced the ogre with Conor Lamb (as they should have), I dont think you'd hear any complaints about Oz losing.

Fetterman was a very popular Lt. Governor. His sudden illness is unfortunate. If he fully recovers (which is very possible in time) he could be effective. Strokes are wicked. But, it’s not like he’s getting into staring contests with reporters during press conferences or falling asleep in the well of the Senate.

He was popular as a weird alt dude. He isn't ever gonna be a good senator.

McConnell (who should resign), is a better senator than him and always will be. He can at least communicate with people.

Shrek is young and already at a Feinstein level of incompetence.

This is one of many reasons this country is in the shape it's in.

Popular with released convicts? Yikes. It's weird defending a guy who clearly lacks the competency to sit in the Senate.

It’s kind of dickish making fun of a guy who had a stroke. You do you, though.
It's kind of dickish for a political party to push a guy who had a stroke to public office as a Senator. They knew he hadn't fully recovered and they tried to hide his deficiencies from the constituents.

Had he done the right thing and stepped down from the race, I’d say nothing, he deceived the people. He earned it.

Everyone knew while voting he'd had a stroke. He debated Oz before he was anywhere close to recovered. His prognosis is actually pretty good and he's continuing to recover.

Oz was a snake oil salesman/swindler. He was never going to recover from that.

It doesn’t matter what Oz is. Fetterman was unfit to run let alone be in office. I’m glad his prognosis for recovery is good, but he isn’t capable of fulfilling his duties. He can run again after he recovers.

Are you aware that voting started long before the debate?

Are you talking about primary voting or early voting? It wasn't just the debate, but his campaign appearances prior. People knew he'd had a stroke. If they were worried about his performance as a senator they could have waited to make a decision closer to election day. Regardless, the election wasn't particularly close. He won by close to 5% better than Biden did in the state. Turns out people don't like con men.

The damage the stroke caused a type of aphasia/verbal word processing difficulty. Even at the time of the debate he could understand/write text just fine.

His bigger issue in terms of time away was due to pretty bad depression. Currently he's a pretty functional new/backbench senator.
