I wanted to be at ND more than anything else. I took multiple visits including an official but never got a committable offer. Does that mean i'm not a fit (no sarcastic comments )?

If I had gotten an offer but was offered $500k to go to Georgia, i probably would have taken the money. Would that have made me not a fit because i made a very smart financial decision?

My point, there's a ton of top players that are fits at ND, it's the coaching staffs job to show them that and present it in a way to land them so they can thrive. There are some really good kids/players out there that are fits at ND that are going to schools to win more, be developed better, and or get upfront money.

I think Keeley was more of a fit than Bowen was. I would agree about ND paying for the one's that don't, but this damn NIL is a killer. I just wonder how happy Bowen would've been here at ND. Seems like he wanted to be closer to home like Diggs in my opinion.

They're more likely to "hit." The success rate for 5-star recruits on the 247 composite from the 2013-2017 classes is 75%. By "success rate," I mean players who were either drafted or have played in the NFL.

It's hard to tell for us fans who is or isn't a fit especially in todays NIL day. I can't imagine being a 5 star and having to weigh where you think is the best school for you, vs who may get you prepared for the NFL the best, vs who is offering you the most money. There's always been money out there, but not as easy and as much as this.

It's a really tough decision. Hartman is our first win in the NIL era under freeman, CJ Carr shouldn't be a problem with how much money the family has, williams will be the one to watch and will be huge to keep.

The "fit" situation has to work for both sides. You wanted to be at ND, I don't think Justin Scott wanted to be at ND. How you were recruited by ND vs Scott appears to differ (no sarcastic comments ) I would agree that high profile kids are going to schools that win more, which is why I think (being old school here) if ND wins on the field it will win in recruiting.

My point was not ND vs Wake with getting hartman for one more year, it's that he could have gone to a number of other places instead of ND. Possibly Bama, but bama wasn't recruiting a portal QB as clearly as ND was.

Freeman going all in on a portal QB right after the regular season ended this year is why we lost pyne then buchner, but also why we have achance to be really good.

It was a brilliant move by freeman not waiting until after the bowl game to make it known he was going after a portal QB.
