No shitOSU is going to clean up again. Everyone wants to be on the winning teams.

Is Laurinaitis still a GA at OSU? Is so his name keeps popping up and I haven’t heard Bullough’s at all. I mean Golden needs to do his job but just found it interesting
Yes he is a grad assistant, not sure on amount names are being mentioned. Is Laurinaitis still a GA at OSU? Is so his name keeps popping up and I haven’t heard Bullough’s at all. I mean Golden needs to do his job but just found it interesting
Are you asking why this board feels like getting the best high school football players in the country to come here is important?Just curious, why does this board think we need a 5*? Yeah 5* recruits are nice, but they don't fit ND & they all don't pan out.
When all is said and done, CJ Carr should be a 5*, that would be 2 for 2024.
I think he's asking why this board thinks we can't win without themAre you asking why this board feels like getting the best high school football players in the country to come here is important?
So you don't think we should get 5 stars because they don't fit ND but you think CJ and Williams are 5 stars? Does that mean you think CJ and Williams don't fit ND?Just curious, why does this board think we need a 5*? Yeah 5* recruits are nice, but they don't fit ND & they all don't pan out.

It is a star system, Justin Scott might as well be crowned the first F'ing 6* and there are some on this board that don't buy him as a 5* recruit. Not all 5* recruits pan out in college, that's my point boy.Are you asking why this board feels like getting the best high school football players in the country to come here is important?
ND has won game & lost games, not all 5*'s pan out.I think he's asking why this board thinks we can't win without them
The stats are very clear that 5 star recruits DO pan out at a significantly higher rate than 4 stars. So, the more you get the better chance you have.It is a star system, Justin Scott might as well be crowned the first F'ing 6* and there are some on this board that don't buy him as a 5* recruit. If they are a fit for ND- go after them, that is why Carr & Williams are at ND. ND wanted them & they wanted ND. Yes I think Carr & Williams are 5*'s and do fit ND.So you don't think we should get 5 stars because they don't fit ND but you think CJ and Williams are 5 stars? Of course take the ones that are fits, but I'd be happy to have ND pay for the ones that don't.If they are a fit for ND- go after them, that is why Carr & Williams are at ND. ND wanted them & they wanted ND. Yes I think Carr & Williams are 5*'s and do fit ND.
ND has a better than "really good" QB this year. I wonder how many 5*'s TCU had last year? The stats are very clear that 5 star recruits DO pan out at a significantly higher rate than 4 stars. So, the more you get the better chance you have.
An extremely talented Bama team with Bryce young wasn't enough last year nor was an extremely talented ohio state team with stroud.
To win it all ND is going to need a lot of talent AND a really good QB.
So only people that commit to ND are a fit for ND?If they are a fit for ND- go after them, that is why Carr & Williams are at ND. ND wanted them & they wanted ND. Yes I think Carr & Williams are 5*'s and do fit ND.
Is the goal to lose 65-7 to a team with 5* talent?ND has a better than "really good" QB this year. I wonder how many 5*'s TCU had last year?
I think Keeley was more of a fit than Bowen was. I would agree about ND paying for the one's that don't, but this damn NIL is a killer. I just wonder how happy Bowen would've been here at ND. Seems like he wanted to be closer to home like Diggs in my opinion.Of course take the ones that are fits, but I'd be happy to have ND pay for the ones that don't.
Answer your own question- no. Look how far TCU made it without 5* talent. Is the goal to lose 65-7 to a team with 5* talent?
exactly....... ND has more talent than UM, the team that got TCU on the map. ND does not have the talent of Georgia, not close. But we have IMO a better qb THIS year so we'd have a shot.Is the goal to lose 65-7 to a team with 5* talent?
Yes, TCU a team without 5 star talent beat teams that didn't have 5 star talent just like them. Then they played a team with a ton of 5 star talent and got obliterated.Answer your own question- no. Look how far TCU made it without 5* talent.
They're more likely to "hit." The success rate for 5-star recruits on the 247 composite from the 2013-2017 classes is 75%. By "success rate," I mean players who were either drafted or have played in the NFL.Just curious, why does this board think we need a 5*? Yeah 5* recruits are nice, but they don't fit ND & they all don't pan out.

It's hard to tell for us fans who is or isn't a fit especially in todays NIL day. I can't imagine being a 5 star and having to weigh where you think is the best school for you, vs who may get you prepared for the NFL the best, vs who is offering you the most money. There's always been money out there, but not as easy and as much as this.I think Keeley was more of a fit than Bowen was. The "fit" situation has to work for both sides. You wanted to be at ND, I don't think Justin Scott wanted to be at ND. How you were recruited by ND vs Scott appears to differ (no sarcastic commentsSo only people that commit to ND are a fit for ND?
I wanted to be at ND more than anything else. I took multiple visits including an official but never got a committable offer. Does that mean i'm not a fit (no sarcastic comments)?
If I had gotten an offer but was offered $500k to go to Georgia, i probably would have taken the money. Would that have made me not a fit because i made a very smart financial decision?
My point, there's a ton of top players that are fits at ND, it's the coaching staffs job to show them that and present it in a way to land them so they can thrive. There are some really good kids/players out there that are fits at ND that are going to schools to win more, be developed better, and or get upfront money.
No disrespect to Wake Forest, but what Hartman has at ND this year vs. Wake Forest give him the chance to put up big numbers. It's hard to tell for us fans who is or isn't a fit especially in todays NIL day. It's a really tough decision. Hartman is our first win in the NIL era under freeman, CJ Carr shouldn't be a problem with how much money the family has, williams will be the one to watch and will be huge to keep.
My point was not ND vs Wake with getting hartman for one more year, it's that he could have gone to a number of other places instead of ND. Possibly Bama, but bama wasn't recruiting a portal QB as clearly as ND was.No disrespect to Wake Forest, but what Hartman has at ND this year vs. Wake Forest give him the chance to put up big numbers.
At the B&G game TB had Estime, Merriweather, Tyree, and Colzie all who have the chance to make big contributions to the offense this year.
