Drew was an elite QB recruit as a freshman / sophomore in HS and literally stopped growing. Could have went anywhere he wanted - check his offer list.
Do we have to go through a tutorial on commitable offer definition? The top schools aren’t letting an unathletic 5’9 qb with a weak arm commit. Yeah he looked like he would be amazing IF he grew 5+ inches. He didn’t

Drew Pyne was a top 50 recruit after his sophomore year and had coaches all over the country visiting him.
He had numerous major programs he could have committed to.
You obviously don’t remember his recruitment?
In fact, right after he committed to ND was when Cade McNamara decommitted.
If you know the backstory in that, you would know Cade was mad because he didn’t think ND was going to go after a top QB in the class after him. He felt ND “lied to him” when they went after Pyne.
In 2018, when Pyne was being recruited, he was seen much differently than now.
He had major commitable offers.
That’s a fact.

Dude your show has grown old! We have been fans probably longer than you’ve been alive, so lets just stop the shit. Everyone here already knows everything you can think to bitch about. Sometimes silence is golden.

Weird when you think who ND never got on and may be facing a single, 6-3, 3* TE as the only take.

And this guy is gonna be a player, 6-6, hooper, maybe a DE instead of TE. Hell, I don't even know if he can catch. Where's all the So Ill's with the scouting reports?

And Parker is now the OC. I sure hope he turns out to be a good hire.

@Lax - why don’t we give members of the 10+ year club a few temporary bans to use on newer members? Please?

I think that’s an opinion, second to last sentence. I remember the recruiting and being confused at his ranking.

But I could be wrong. Maybe drew pyne was the only qb in the last 15 years 5’9 slow weak arm that schools still wanted before graduating high school.

I took an official visit to ND in 2000. You very well could be significantly older than me

I often wonder if some of you insufferable dudes hate yourself in real life as much as you seem to on this internet message board. Is it natural to be so void of positivity, or do you have to actively work at it?

On the flip side, i always wonder how you see some ND fans leave a game like stanford or Marshall last year, or any frichan loss in person or on TV being all happy. The losses have to really hurt for the wins to be very enjoyable. Especially championships.

Because some of us have some perspective, I guess? I was at Marshall. It sucked as a fan. But, it was also my kid’s first ND game and as we were leaving she told me it was the best day ever.

It goes beyond that, though. It’s like the entire Drew Pyne conversation. I think some of you detractors have become so entrenched in your position that you refuse to accept facts that are widely known and accepted fairly universally. You use hindsight to shape your narratives about recruiting when guys like Pyne don’t pan out, but are crickets when guys like Joe Alt end up being excellent evaluations. Gotta keep that energy consistent, champ.

Because it has no direct impact on my life, it's just a game, it's a hobby that should bring you enjoyment sometimes. I have things in life that matter a lot more than 18 - 22 year old kids playing a game for a university who for the most part actually fulfills its mission to educate and mold people into good productive adults. With the exception of Amy Coney Barrett that is. lol

I mean, is it ever really too late for ND at TE?

TE is like any other position. Don’t take guys who aren’t going to be good enough to crack the lineup. Most of the guys mentioned don’t look like they would.
Not sure why we didn’t get traction with Benthancur

Not to mention Prieskorn...never went after him. Michigan is doing a better job than we are. Is Nelson taking an OV to ND?
