Quick question, will our electrical grid be able to handle this if this proposed rule would be implemented?

According to the Ministry of Truth, 1984 was never critical of tyranny nor the suppression of free speech. It ALWAYS stated that fact checkers were right and tyranny was kindness and love. Always.

We certainly can’t let people read the classic books and form their own thoughts…..need to amend the author‘s thought provoking work to make it more appropriate.
I’m like 99% sure that tweet was satire. Googled it and I can’t find anything either.

I just learned that it's white males responsible for our climate. Jane is so enlightening.

I love how the media and people have been trying to forgive Jane for the bullshit she pulled in Vietnam all those years ago, and then she goes and opens her mouth and proves she's been an idiot all along.

I had a chance to have dinner with Jane about 20 years ago. I was spending a weekend with a friend and his family in Atlanta. He had a business relationship with her and she called to invite him out to dinner. He asked me to join them. I was quite certain I wouldn't have been able to sit at the table with her for an hour without telling her exactly what I thought of her, so I declined. I've never doubted that decision for a moment. I wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire.

Such a huge betrayal to our servicemen and country. IIRC, wasn't McCain one of the prisoners at the POW camp she went to?

I don't know about that. I know that some of what was said about her time in Vietnam was played up, like the prisoners slipping her their names on paper and she gave them to Vietnamese officials. Men whose names were written about in that story have supposedly debunked that one. The pictures she took and broadcasting on Radio Hanoi are a different matter though, those actions aren't in question. She apologized for one and not the other.

Apparently a good amount of run off got into the storm water system that runs to the Delaware river.

However, how does an unmanned parked truck just randomly catch on fire under the I-95 overpass? 🤔🤫……

If I were a conspiratorial man, I'd be connecting this to "know your bridges".

I'm not one of those people though.

Catalytic converters have been known to catch fire. Had a friend whose parked car did this shortly after parking in his driveway.

I just took a video last week of a car roasting on an exit, firemen trying to put it out. The engine blew up just before I started filming.

I used to have an old Dodge Caravan with a catalytic converter. After racing my buddy back in high school I pulled up to my house and my dad asked "What were you doing?" From the porch he could see the underneath of my van was glowing red. Old engine was misfiring like crazy, too much air and fuel.

I understand the vehicle malfunctions that can happen. However, the way the media made it sound was this vehicle had been sitting for a significant amount of time.

I'm all for cleaning up the environment, but this doesn't doesn't sound like they're too serious.

[QUOTTE]The effort will be managed by the Department of Energy and will initially have a budget in the tens of millions.

.....are you, as a republican(?), with knowledge of the general GOP postion on climate spending, seriously saying "doesn't seem like they are too serious" because of a lack of spending?

I’m registered as a Republican, but I vote more independently. Didn’t vote for Trump either time for instance.

Doesn’t matter what I am though. Tens of millions seems like a very small amount if they really want to make a difference whether it was proposed by Dems or Repubs.

I would agree. It's microscopic imo. I just don't expect more.

The current Congress certainly isn't going to be appropriating much for climate response.

That said...they are pumping solid money in to the air scrubbing industry.

"The government has already unveiled powerful programs meant to encourage the industry’s growth. The bipartisan infrastructure law contained $3.5 billion to fund a set of large-scale, industrial facilities that will specialize in scrubbing carbon out of the ambient air. And the Inflation Reduction Act contained a tax credit that compensates companies for every ton of carbon that they inject underground rather than release into the atmosphere."

Makes you wonder what impact this will have on planet Earth?
