So I saw this and got to thinking about Southampton’s strategy over the last decade. Crazy to think all of the players they had and sold on for a profit while also staying up in the PL. now it looks like they are sure to go down. Crazy stuff.

Vlahovic yellow carded for silencing racist chants in Bergamo after a brilliant goal. Let's see if the soccer world comes out of the woodwork to support him. Will Serie A make a public statement? Will Gravina and the FIGC pardon Vlahovic's yellow? Will Mbappe, Henry, Roc Nation Sports International come out in support? Doubt it. Wonder why.

Direct (translated) quote from Atalanta's coach, Gasperini:
Racist chants at Vlahovic? A lot of players of that ethnicity play at Atalanta. Mind you, sometimes it's not racism, but the insults are for other reasons. There are insults like 'piece of sh...'. Rudeness has to be distinguished from racism.

But Juve and its fans are the problem...

Awareness and education.

Making monkey noises and or throwing bananas on the pitch isn't subtle and there really isn't a language barrier to it. It's pretty visceral. Italians chanting things at Serbians requires awareness and education to a majority of fans. I can make out a lot of what is being chanted in English in certain broadcasts. If I'm watching Serie A in this instance, I wouldn't even know what I would be listening for.

This behavior is being more emboldened and has become worse post Covid as far as I'm concerned. There are likely multiple reasons for this but we don't need to dive into that. It's widespread enough that it's a problem that UEFA should be stepping in. Racism, poverty shaming, mocking tragedies should not be tolerated in any way shape or form. There has to be an awareness to it and fans should be educated about why it's wrong the negative impact it has on people. I think the media can play a positive role in this, but good luck with that. I'm looking at multiple stories today and don't really know what was said that prompted the reaction. If there is context you can provide I would be appreciative.

Lukaku's yellow was pardoned. This one should be as well and I hope it will be.

I’ll be puking with you after the way this season has gone 😂
At least it’s ending well. A top 4 and a good Summer window could set them up for title chase. I’m kinda hoping for it, they’re more fun to hate when they’re good.

Liverpool won't make Top 4. Manchester United are "back".

Brighton has some very tough fixtures left otherwise I'd say they'd finish fourth, LFC fifth and United sixth. Brighton still have City, Arsenal and Newcastle left. If they do get top four, it's going to be tough for anyone to complain. They fielded a side that cost under $70M against United and beat them in stoppage time earlier this week. If I'm an owner I'm picking that operation apart of directors and scouts. Newcastle already got their director of football.

Leeds going down with Big Sam would be fantastic. Then hopefully the American kids on that squad all get dispersed. The Championship is an absolute gauntlet. I'd like Leeds to stay up but based on how they've played since they fired Jesse, it doesn't appear he was the problem.

Southampton is gone. Ideally Everton and Leicester join them. West Ham appears safe unfortunately.

I will say Leeds seemed to really tank once Adams went down.

He's supposedly going to Real now, which in all reality was probably the end result all along. I'm sure the finances on that will all be above board.

They barely stayed up last year.

I refuse to get invested in all the off field stuff (Notre Dame recruiting and other drama is enough). I just watch all the games. Much more enjoyable experience for me anyway.

The Bellingham and FSG shit is totally unhinged and nonstop.

100%. The transfer rumor drama is mostly agents and media spewing swill into the atmosphere. Then signings happen out of nowhere that nobody was rumor mongering about.

I can’t really remember a relegation battle this year n recent memory at this point in the season. 3 games left and 16–20 all have chances either way.

4-0 Fulham.

If Southampton has any hope they HAVE TO win at Nottingham Forest today and hope Brighton takes all three points from Everton. Any glimmer of hope they may have dies with a loss today.

The Championship is absolutely insane right now for the playoff battle.

5. Coventry City 70 +12GD
6. Sunderland 69 +13 GD
7. Millwall 69 +8 GD
8. West Brom 67 +7 GD
9. Blackburn Rovers 67 -3 GD

A Millwall goal puts them into sixth. They are 3-3 with Blackburn right now in the 72nd minute.
