I want this particular player to work out so badly. It would be a fantastic story as far as I'm concerned. This kid seems to have his wits about him. I really hope he takes this opportunity and sees it through to the end.

Wonder if he will have a growth spurt in college like pops. If I remember right Brian grew a lot after he enrolled and transitioned to LB.

He's certainly been thru a lot. I had no idea until today. Looks like Brian U has had his share of relationship issues over the years.

That’s an understatement. He enrolled as a 5’9” 170lb. WR and left a 6’4” 260lb. LB.

Edit: I was obviously off by a few years

High School.

As a sophomore at Lovington High, Urlacher didn't appear to have
much of a future in football. He was a 5'9", 160-pound wide
receiver with good speed and soft hands, but not much else.
That's when assistant coach Jamie Quinones introduced Urlacher
to the weight room. Over the next two years, while Brian enjoyed
a growth spurt to almost 6'4", he bulked up to 214 and became an
all-state receiver and defensive back, and led Lovington to the
3A state championship.

Jamie U's comp is Jarell White from Cincy. He was the 5'10, 205 Sniper that led the 2020 Cincy defense in tackles. I'd say that's a fair assessment of his maxed out upside.

I'll gladly take White production, though Urlacher appears to be a bigger player.

White was 5'10 and just over 200 as a college senior. Urlacher is 6'1 and almost 200 entering his final year in HS. And he also has the genes of a dude who went through a pretty substantial growth spurt leaving HS and going into college. Doesn't mean Kennedy will suddenly grow into a 6'4+ giant like Brian, but it's something to consider.

Two consecutive verbal commitments from high school football players whose fathers are Hall of Famers. Expectations, fair or unfair, are abound.

Hard hitting safeties w/ freak genetics always suck
I hope those genetics kick in at some point, I really do, because they've got a lot of work to do before we dream of him becoming a contributor on defense. Right now, he's an okay get compared to other prospects. That could change overnight, especially with kids still growing.

Posters can speak their mind on a public forum. If it causes guys to decommit, so be it. Bama fans certainly would be questioning a commitment of this caliber. Hopefully he turns into a productive player, he certainly has a hell of a story that makes him well worth rooting for.

Cool, I guess I should get beat up for not being a dumb ass blinded by a last name.
Judging by your behavior here the last hour, I’m sure you deserve to get beat up for many things. I get that you’re trolling and think it’s fun, but badmouthing kids that may one day suit up for the team is not the way my man.
