Is being told that the number is three on the OL.

And that Knapp is being recruited as a tackle, not guard.

They are telling him they have one spot left on the outside, but are not trying to push him into a commitment.

IMO, he’s a plan B recruit.
Also the words you quoted sounded more like pressuring someone to commit and secure a spot not he is a plan B. I have not read article just saying

Don't be surprised if he turns into Joe Alt for PSU. Not first round draft pick Joe Alt, but in terms of the huge gap between his recruiting ranking and his potential.

Went to a charity event today and ran into a guy who works at Brewer's high school. I asked him what went down with Brewer. Back in winter, ND and Michigan were his top two. He wasn't happy that in the fall PSU only offered him as a walk on.

HH was pretty high on Brewer and they got along well. When Rudolph came in after HH retired, Rudolph wasn't as high on Brewer and as we all know, ND passed. Brewer then went to Mich on a visit and tried to commit there. Harbaugh said they weren't ready for him to commit.

Brewer visited PSU, his high school teammate is enrolled there as an OT, and that's the end of the story. PSU got a steal by deafult.

Unless they didn’t and Michigan and Rudolph have him correctly evaluated?

What’s weird is Rudolph offered Brewer when he was at VT and recruited him, but then stopped when he got to ND.
Rudolph never offered Lambert though, which is also weird.

That's possible. To be fair, Brewer is a big, athletic, smart kid playing tight end in a Wing T offense that throws the ball about 17 times a year, and he will be playing OG in college.

watched his team in the state playoffs against my kid's team...Kid is a freaking monster of a human being, and he liked to be physical...they just lined him up and ran behind him the whole night.. they only threw the ball a handle of times so didn't pay much attention to pass pro but he would be a great mauling guard
