BTW... who's been on the industry sites this morning. The #Never3stars must be out in full force looking to sink a rusty pike into Freeman's side this morning.

Teddy, if by chance you read this, we aren’t all dickless Irish fans. You got the offer for a good reason. Congrats and prove the naysayers wrong. Peace.
JD is stating an inconvenient truth. Last class was low teens if I recall, this one probably about the same, no different than a Brian Kelly class.

No one will win a championship in modern football with a class made up of "prove 'em wrongers". However, if Freeman can show he's a 10-11 win coach, that can change. And with Hartman and some injury luck it could happen.

Look at the average rank of the kids in the ‘23 class vs the average Kelly class and then tell me recruiting hasn’t improved. Ranking is a shitty metric.

We're not losing out on top recruits and shopping for three stars because we won nine games instead of 10 last year. Our rankings and record were comparable to LSU and Oregon, better than Texas and Miami, all of whom finished with better classes than us. But they offer something that we don't.

Plus, go back and look at LB production at Cincy under him and the type of guys he did it with. He'll have to fail before I get on him.
Lb play has been bad for 2 years under freeman…. Yes the starters he didn’t recruit, but still doesn’t seem like his recruits are ready to beat out the starters that have played average to poor

But we don't/won't offer that, but that's not the only way to win in recruiting. If Freeman can establish himself as a 10.5 win coach, ND has the clout to win big in recruiting even without NIL. It's the harder path and ND is already walking up hill, but an 11 win ND Program has pull.

Dude, we lost two committed/nearly-committed five-stars (Keeley, Moore) - and at least one four-star RB we could sure use (Limar) - to NIL last cycle. Not to mention all the guys who took a look but followed the money elsewhere before things got very far. It wasn't because we only won nine games. Miami sucks but they pulled in the #7 class in the country.

Kelly established himself as a 10.5 win coach but rarely cracked the Top 10 in recruiting. And that was before NIL changed the game for high-end recruits. Notre Dame's path is hard, yes, always, and that's fine. But we make it so much harder by refusing to figure out the NIL part.

Anyway. I hope Teddy Rezac turns into a hell of a ballplayer. But if we were supposed to be shopping down a different aisle now, it's hard to see how this is it.

If that vert and 40 time are close to being true at his size, that is elite athleticism for a high schooler. Not sure what all the fuss is about
There’s 500 HS basketball players with those numbers, doesn’t mean they’re good at football

Maybe he will be really good, but he hasn’t shown it on the field yet…. Hence his offer list

Maybe he blows up, but this is clearly option like 47 at the lb position

My God….. people see 3 stars and all of a sudden the kid is awful.

The 5 stars ain’t knocking on the door pants pissers. Bring in talent and develop. Simple as that.

F the stars and F yo couch
That’s exactly how ND DOES NOT win a championship… do what we’ve done the last 30 years

Need to recruit and land more highly ranked players, that’s why freeman is the coach.

WADR (with all due respect) (yep that’s mine), Freeman is not Kelly. Until he proves otherwise, you follow the lead. Let’s look forward to what this season brings, and stop over-ANAL-izing every supposed questionable recruit. We live in the days of the portal LION (like it or not). They make it or we find a replacement.

P.S. please don’t move my post, 😂

And that’s all fine and well. That’s what YOU expect. Others, including myself, want to see the program go in an upward trajectory. Give me a balanced, cohesive, well coached, fight to the last whistle, competitive football team every year. Then you can obsess about national championships all you want when you have all of those aspects on a CONSISTENT basis. That’s how championships are won.
