He wasn’t going to crack the first team on either side of the ball. He did have a chance to break into the CB rotation by season’s end. Am I wrong that OSU has an even better first team group of WR & CB? To the point that Styles ain’t breaking into that rotation either?
Oh I don't give a shit about either Styles' playing time. This is about dad being a kabob on Twitter and shading ND.

God forbid the dude might have the awareness to think that maybe his sons situation at ND was partly his own fault

Right. Chansi Stuckey wasn’t the one dropping all those catchable passes last season. I don’t follow recruiting as close as most but what was the deciding reason for Lo Styles opting for ND over OSU? I heard on the II pod that while he was clearly more polished at CB in HS that the kid wanted to catch TD passes in college thus he wanted to be a WR.

Got it. I’m just trying to understand his reasoning for going to an even more loaded roster If what he wants is playing time.

tOSU had to go to the portal to get Davison Igbinosun and Ji'Haad Carter...both of who are penciled in to start at CB and Nickel. I believe Sonny/Proctor, Ransom, and Burke are the other starters. Behind them they don't have any proven talent at corner but a pair of highly ranked guys in Jordan Hancock and freshman Jermaine Matthews. So Lorenzo could be CB 3 or 4 for them where at ND he was behind Hart, Morrison, Mickey, Lewis, and Tucker. To put it in perspective, Clarence Lewis was a starter as a true freshman on a playoff team and now he's CB4/5 and a backup nickel as a senior. Mickens has brought our CB room a long way!

You don’t learn how to catch the ball in college….

His stiffness last year was more alarming to me than his hands, and that’s saying something. With that said, wish he was on the team with the right mindset.

Styles always looked stiff as a WR to me…..not the kind of dude that would win on a contested ball nor go up in the air to grab the pass. He never looked fluid at the position. He certainly has good speed, we’ll see how that all transitions to DB. I would have preferred he stayed at ND but he most likely wouldn’t have been a difference maker for the 2023 season.

Especially considering the number of reception he had. He had 7 drops and 30 catches... nearly 20% of the time that the ball hit him in the hands he dropped it. That's INSANE. Most NFL players are between 3% and 6% in drop rate. There were only like five or six guys in the NFL above 10% last year much less approaching 20%.

That could have been a very costly mistake. He got bailed out because Allar stinks.

I thought he was transferring to OSU with the idea that he was redshirting.
