For one, the 8% number isn't even accurate (The Tweet got fact checked). Even if it was 8%, these billionaires are still going to be paying exponentially more in taxes at the end of the day. Bezos in 2019 was making $215,000,000 a day, or 4574 times the average median wage ($47,000) someone makes in a year. They'll pay in a year more in taxes than most people will pay in their lifetimes.

Could billionaires be paying more in taxes? Sure, and it probably wouldn't hurt them. The point is the Top 1% already pay 43% of all federal income tax. I don't think anyone needs their taxes raised, quite frankly. I think we need to be cutting spending in some areas instead.

Well one could argue that decades ago when corporate tax rates and what not were much higher (though one cannot say if this was when America was better off as that time period is notoriously difficult to pin down) corporations were incentivized to spend money on stuff, and pay and pensions and other things that created value for many employees. Why give it the gubment (or a much smaller population) when you can give it to your peoples. I have heard tales of this sort of thing at the local malt shop.
