DJ's younger brother and Nico Iamaleava's cousin.

Good prospect at TE too. Saw a lot of good clips of him this off season.

ATH, MATAYO UIAGALELEI, NO. 15

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco athlete Matayo Uiagalelei made a big jump, moving from No. 77 to No. 15 nationally. He was dominant at every 7v7 event we saw him, making a ton of jump ball catches as a tight end. At 6-5, 255 pounds, he has been very tough to deal with as a defensive end as well and has the ability to be a top 25 prospect as a tight end or edge rusher. He can physically manhandle just about any high school player and it’s scary to think he still has two more years to develop. His older brother DJ is a former five-star quarterback now at Clemson and the Tigers will be involved along with just about every top program nationally.

"I think I'll be focusing more on defensive end this year and I'm excited about that," Uiagalelei said. "We have a deep group of guys on both sides of the line and I think we'll be really strong up front.

"I'm sure I'll still play some tight end and have no issue going in on goal line situations to catch fade passes but I like the idea of playing more defensive end and seeing what I can do. That's also where I know I'll play in college and where I'm training at right now."

On the recruiting front, Uiagalelei hasn't come out with a narrowed down, top five or top seven and it won't surprise us if he never does. He's not a big social media guy and recently deleted his twitter account.

Saying that. whenever you talk to him, the same five schools always emerge as the ones he's focusing on.

"I'm looking at Oregon, USC, Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson," Uiagalelei said. "I haven't set up any of my official visits yet but I'm planning to do it soon.

As a California kid, I would guess that NIL would probably play a very big role in his recruitment... right?

Based on his list of schools, if Oregon wins this we will probably all know why.

Committed to Oregon.

They literally just unloaded the Moore account on 3 other prospects

1 5 Star QB = 1 5 Star Safety, DE and 4 star QB

I'd say that's a fair swap for them.

Wow. I mean, you can say that Oregon is a great program, and had a solid first year under Lanning...

but no way these recruits are going their because of "the program" or "the coaches".

No way.
