It's a curious thing to see the left hate on Elon Musk.

I'm trying to pinpoint the exact year or circumstances that led to the left supporting big tech and censorship. I assume that it is aligned with Trump. From Occupy Wall Street to unquestioning support of Apple, Pfizer, big tech, and government collusion in just 10 years? Holy cow. To watch the left abandon their decades-long stance of anti-big business for the hatred of one person? And then project that onto Elon, who is simply bringing transparency to a corrupt big tech organization who colluded with Government?

What a time to be alive.

This is not normal. You can't just not pay the premise lease in the acquired company. If someone acquires a company and doesn't have a handle on the books then they literally lit money on fire to have a valuation done + the months of due diligence work.

Maybe the leases were ending soon at the company's you were at and they were reassessing that space but you can't just not pay someone.

I think the most important question is who owns the leased properties? Is it at arms length or are they extensions of the operating companies? I've bought businesses where there were established holding companies to use/manipulate the real estate values/rent. Not that this is right, but I saw a lot of real estate holding companies seek safe harbour away from the operating companies with similar ownership. Most of them had General Security Agreements in place.

Not sure that applies to this scenario but who knows? Not me, obviously. I think this is pretty indicative of Canadian Tax Law. You would know better than me.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Okay, let me make this simple. He will pay the rent. It's a nothing burger.

OMG, he blocked his public flight information?! I don't blame him. With all of the loonies out there the less available info on my whereabouts the better. Especially with everyone so worked up about him and Twitter.
Ok, but right now he hasn't, so that's pretty hilarious and people are rightfully clowning him. If this was anyone part of Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Government, or Big Media that has any semblance of being on the Left then I am 100% certain I would see these threads littered with posts on it.

Yeah I have no problem with that either, just pretty funny to see people toss their beliefs out as soon as they like the guy in charge.

Yeah a building co is often setup with a lease agreement with the op co. If you purchase a group of companies and one company is the real estate co then you're no longer "paying rent" it's just a tax concept to move money into the building co. If Twitter owned that building this likely wouldn't be a story.

Two yes/no questions:
  1. Do you think Elon should've blocked the flight tracker account?
  2. Do you think Twitter should've blocked the account that posted the public home address of Paul Pelosi shortly prior to the attack?

It's funny to think we've got a sieve for a border in the South that Biden can't do anything about, anyone and everyone coming through, but liberals are looking for any way they can to deport Elon. Elon, a man who has multiple companies that provide American jobs and products and who helped relaunch NASA missions into space. I know both sides are always trying to tear down the most powerful opposition, but it's kind of silly at this point.

  1. It would be foolish to believe that I could convince someone who believes in subjective truth that I'm right about an issue.
  2. My goal isn't to be right. My goal is to have merit-based debates.
I’m getting this visual of you reading this to yourself in the mirror every morning ala Jack Handey.

Maybe add

3. Vaccine skepticism is ok and gosh darn it…people like me!

Just a thought.

Lots of mad people tonight. Twitter suspended or banned a number of accounts that were retweeting Elon's Jet info after some wacko jumped on the hood of his kid's car thinking it was him. Some of those accounts included Aaron Rupar and Keith Olbermann. I don't know the other guy, but Keith has been asking for a timeout for awhile. Just saw Taylor Lorenz scrubbed her entire Twitter account and set it to private, probably thought she was next.

CNN and other talking heads like Shaun King are painting this as Elon silencing left wing journalists.

I don’t blame him…..I wouldn’t want someone posting my location online everytime I leave the house.

Right. This isn't some noble cause or keeping the public informed. It's an attempt to harass him and possibly encourage someone to harm him.

I guess if they don't like it, they can buy Twitter from Musk or just stop using it.

Huh, are the people complaining about this the same people that said Twitter is a private company that can do what they want and that banning Trump was a nothing burger?

And the media is trying to paint this as innocent publishing of public data, but that is false. Elon pays for a service to keep his flight info private.

The guy posting his jet location has gone out of his way to bypass the safeguards for ill intent.

It's public data, but Elon owns the company so he can do what he wants just doesn't save him from criticism.
I think it’s telling you question the way Elon has ran Twitter and even excuse people mocking him, but yet still have reservations about criticizing the way Twitter was handled before Elon.

What? I said they followed their TOS before, Elon is blazing his own path and everyone here is pretzeling to defend him from any sort of criticism. I mean look at Tesla's stock price, it isn't just wokies that think he's got a public image issue right now.

So who forced the guy to create a Twitter account?

No, he's open to criticism and he above everyone else knows it and has acknowledged it. What we're defending is his right to ban the guy. Musk is a public target and with all of the whacko's out there, he's increasing the chances of putting Musk in harm's way. Why do you think Sweeney is doing this? Tell me what good it does?

Yes the guy who took down Spaces is above all in accepting criticism LOL my goodness dude. You didn't need to put that in your post. Elon has thinner skin than a jellyfish.

I think if someone wants to take down his plane they'll likely have the technology to know where it is without the help of a Twitter account.

There's an account that regularly does shit like this for other celebrities jets but now that it's Elon everyone is going bananas.

How did you go into this whole covert ops blow a plane out of the air line of thinking? I'm thinking of the whackos like a John Hinckley that don't have access to that type of weapon or technology and get rubbed the wrong way because they got banned from twitter. It's way more likely that someone would be able to follow him once he landed and do harm if so inclined. What's the odds of that happening? Probably pretty low, but you don't want to make it easier for the nut jobs.

If I were a celebrity I wouldn't want my info out there, but they may not even be aware that info is floating out there.

BTW........If you see the same guy keep popping up in the same places you go to, just ignore him.

Because a celebrity with a PJ isn't landing at the same terminals as you or I? Sorry to burst your bubble but we do not use the same airports/terminals as the ultra elite.

The site FlightRadar24 crashed when Pelosi went to Taiwan, didn't see this group get upset about her safety then...wonder why.

Were you this upset about the Boston Children's Hospital regarding nutjobs and the multiple bomb threats which resulted in their ban? Or nah? Or was it worse that they got banned and it was Big Tech censorship?

What does the Boston Children's Hospital issue have to do with Musk's private data being shared? Seriously. If you want to discuss the BCH threats, that's fine, but it belongs in a separate discussion and has absolutely no direct bearing on this. It's just an attempt to deflect and to divert attention from the subject at hand. Pelosi's flight data shouldn't have been shared like it was either. There's no purpose in doing such things other than to harass someone and encourage the nutjobs to harm them.

Really weird whataboutism...yeah, people love to see Children's Hospitals get attacked. I'm sure you'd feel differently about all this if it was your kid in a car and a psycho jumped on the hood. Big difference between the Elon situation and Boston hospital: everyone agrees that the later is bad, but liberals cry foul when it's "journalists" doxing his kid.

I couldn't find the original screenshot since Keith was suspended, but here he is spreading the information and asking others to do the same. This isn't just against the TOS, it's flat out immoral. There are no good intentions here.

Because you all screamed that is was censorship that LOT got banned multiple times. Now that shoe is on the other foot it's a-ok. It's hypocritical, disingenuous, and shameless. Just so nakedly obvious to everyone. No one here complained about Pelosi's flight data being shared (IMO who cares), but here we all are regarding Elon's plane. I've been consistent, a private company can enforce their TOS however they want - you have been consistent as well, to support the position of whatever is opposite of the other team.

The cries and shrieks of censorship fall flat when everyone is supporting similar actions. TBH I'm not swayed either way on whether the TOS was broken for those accounts, if it was, ban them. But to see everyone throw out their positions they had months prior is just so funny. Especially when it's concerns over "safety" from some Libs of Tiktok super supporters.

It's not? I'm pointing out that everyone here was silent when those two examples were happening, and even saying the LOT was censored. My guy, lunatics know this kind of shit regardless of what some ridiculous Twitter account does.

Also - FTR, flight tracking has been used to shame faux activists for some time between progressives and people that preach sustainability but don't actually care. Of course there is going to be lunatics but those with much fewer resources than Elon have gotten on with it.

Let me be clearer - I am criticizing you not Twitter. Elon can do what he wants on Twitter, he will ultimately do whatever is popular because he craves approval.

Everyone is silent because nobody sane is going to debate the evil nature of attacking a Children's Hospital, it's a universally accepted point. Mountains of evil deeds happen in the world each day, we don't always bring each one up here. The whole reason the Elon story was mentioned is the fact his family was attacked, people got suspended that were posting the tracking info, and liberal media outlets cried foul. Who was crying "unfair!" when the Children's Hospital guy was banned? Like I said, really weird whataboutism...

JFC, Toronto. You're conflating all sorts of stuff that has little to no bearing on the topic at hand. We're discussing sharing Musk's flight data. There's absolutely NO point in doing that other than to harass him and encourage others to harass or harm him. We've all admitted it shouldn't be done to anyone. Now discuss that. All the BS from you about whataboutisms and Twitter's past stance on who they banned and bomb threats to a children's hospital are all deflections and spin and attempts to dodge and twist and avoid the topic at hand.

If you have that much of a losing argument that you need to do that, then OK. Say so and we'll go easy on you and not use any big words or pesky facts. OTOH, if your position is valid, then stick to the subject at hand and discuss it honestly like an adult. This deflection/misdirection routine has gotten old and boring and ridiculously obvious. It's the hallmark of someone whose position can't be defended with facts or reason. It's what politicians do when caught on the losing side of a position: spin, deflect, change the subject, drag in countless extraneous topics, then deflect some more and shovel the night droppings of a male bovine as fast as possible. FFS, do better than this. You're clearly capable of doing so.
