I consulted Google. I'm glad that Google can crush misinformation. I unwaveringly place my trust in Google. The multi-national company is my advocate and my source of truth. Praise be.

I guess if you are dumb enough to go this route you deserve to be lied to.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh they might find out there is a difference between gender/sex. You should listen to mensa society member Matt Walsh break this all down. "2000 Men Having Babies" coming to cornfield near Mississippi, bring your sister wife to get free admission.

All information is incomplete. Very rarely is it ever 100% true or a lie. Ultimately you are the final arbiter. You will accept or reject it with the understanding you are operating on incomplete info and based on the source.

You'll need to define those terms. Objectively.

My background check is entering its ninth week. So forgive my nitpicking. I need to keep my brain engaged.
For a youngster, you must have one heck of a past for it to take 9 weeks. lol

I'm with ya. This is why I don't want to silence or throttle folks. People are usually pretty good (some better than others) at figuring things out over time

Off topic: I am 30 now! The reality is I worked for DOD and part of that job involved a Top Secret (if i tell you more i have to kill you) investigation process, so prospective employer is waiting to hear back from DOD on what they found.

I'm at the point where I'm now applying for new jobs, solely for the purpose of finding something better or dangling an offer in front of prospective employer to determine how important it is for them to hear from DOD

If we're demanding medical status of candidates...

Hes awful. But he's one of 438 or whatever it is.

This is why giving the 17th Amendment was a disaster. Someone like him could be a senator under the new system. The house is a great place for loons. Their fans cheer and their peers probably ignore them.

The Senate was intended to be the grown up table. Fetterman, Oz, Walker, Warnock, Ossoff, and so on don't belong there. They belong in the House, presuming they must be in one of the two bodies of Congress.

Got it, like the reputable POTUS that said gas is cheaper than when he took office, who would also oversee all mis/disinfo agencies.

Now I'm confused. So, we have objective sex, subjective gender, and a mis/disinfo board that will objectively correct me if I miscategorize the subjective gender. Am I following?

Unsurprised you're confused, but gender = something made up by society and interpreted by presentation of ones self, and sex = biologically assigned at birth.

Hopefully that helps, you can always use Google to find these top secret answers.

Ehh, they were called transsexuals until the last decade or two. And it described the same population of people. To me, it seems like a change in messaging.

Illegal aliens > illegal immigrants > undocumented immigrants. Similar concepts. "Its not frozen rain, its sleet!" Can call it what you want, people aren't dumb. We don't assign sex, we observe it.

Per usual, your inability (at this point, I'm certain it's not unwillingness) to infer cause things to simply whoosh right over your head. You're still not following the point.

Sure, but people don't get upset about illegal immigrants being called undocumented immigrants. There isn't outrage from some guys in their mid 50s because someone is transgender and that somehow it's impeding on their existence. The outrage is performative.

I think I read a poster somewhere say if they resort to personal insults they've lost the argument? Personally I don't mind, but for someone possessing such great intellect and honor I would have expected you to stick to your guns. Sad.

I would also add that not only is your sex assigned at birth but it is something that you can never change. That is the science part, it is biology and it is genetics. Chet, who is biological male, decides to undergo the transformation to appear as a female and go by the new name of Sheila. That’s all cool, it’s that person‘s body and life. The problem is how do we as a society completely overhaul all our social gender norms to account for the segment of population that will undergo this, primarily, external physical transformation. In Chet’s case, they are a male by the definition of science but they want to be identified as a gender female. It is very challenging and confusing to say the least. Society has to address it in sports, data collection, scholarship awards, loan applications, business formation status, locker room usage, bathroom usage……this list goes on almost infinitely. If Sheila wants to start a company that will qualify under woman owned status which could give that company preferred contracts, how will that work? What if Sheila later on decides they are gender neutral…..how will that work with the business? We’ve seen a number of people in the public eye go back and forth. I think it’s a simple concept to change one‘s gender but how that is handled within society is unbelievably complicated.

That's the difference. I'm not trying to win any argument. I think it's foolish to believe that anyone on this forum is going to change anyone else's mind; is that what your goal is? This is doubly true when posters refuse to deviate from party lines. I'm fully aware that you refuse to agree with my perspective. I have no issues with that.

Also, I'm not insulting you. You said:
If you're being fascist/transphobic/anti-science then you should expect to be called any of those things.
So if you are incapable of inferring conclusions from information, then you should expect to be told that, right? Your words, not mine.

I do enjoy pointing out all the holes in your gaping logic, though. That's my angle, and it's a target rich environment.

That’s the plan these people are a threat to democracy
That's an assumption on your part. If he plans on making the election process more secure, and in the wake the GOP win all the future elections, that seems to suggest crooked election processes were influencing results in the past. Such changes would help enforce democracy, not be a threat to it.

Let me look for that post where HR1, designed to keep Democrats in office and worthy of breaking the filibuster to 48/50 was flagged as a threat to democracy…

If someone is presenting as a certain gender you are certainly in the right to call refer to them as how they are presenting. If they correct you then cool refer to them as that. That is your only obligation, to be a good person. When it comes to the biological aspect of it all....I'll leave that to scientists to determine when someone switches sexes.

I will disagree on how it is societly difficult, if everyone just assumed someones gender based on how they are presenting themselves then life would be easier.

That's a nice preamble, but you still haven't told anyone what exactly about the twitter follower swings indicates a form of shadow banning. Some of the dupes around here will yuck it up and use it to confirm their preconceived victimhood but I would like to see what exactly is the logic behind that. If you're saying a client manager on a project veritas video is the most shining proof then just say that.

Also lol @ party lines, just because I tend to side with the Blue party more does not mean I am a Dem supporter by any means. My positions are based in support by numbers and morals.

Ok, so you are on board with the idea it doesn't matter what we call people here illegally. A spade is a spade.

But you will put up a fight on the transsexual/transgender hill? The trans thing has impeded on people. Nearly or entirely on women. The Lia Thomas thing has helped in the sporting realm. It will continue to do so on a bipartisan basis.

Gender isn't some big social construct. Until the last 5-10 years it was a less "icky" word for people to say than sex. Nothing more, nothing less. If sociologists wanna claim it hasn't (rightfully) been viewed in vernacular as sex, by all means... happy to let them keep digging a hole and dying on a hill in front of the people who control their funding.

I will disagree on how it is societly difficult, if everyone just assumed someones gender based on how they are presenting themselves then life would be easier.

The government has a goal of allocating 5% of all funds to woman owned small businesses (WOSBs). They rarely achieve it, so they are desperate to find WOSBs to send money to.

What if I told you that I got rich by claiming to be a woman so I could categorize my business as a WOSB and siphon the set aside funds? And what if I told you that I just put a new license plate on my $145k Audi RS6 Avant that says "WOSB LOL"?

What if I promised you that I was super serious about identifying as a woman, profiteering aside, and that by questioning me you were objectively immoral?

That's a nice preamble, but you still haven't told anyone what exactly about the twitter follower swings indicates a form of shadow banning.

Sure I did. You just refused the answer. Don't confound the two.

If you're saying a client manager on a project veritas video is the most shining proof then just say that.

Funny, I didn't see you post the job titles of the Twitter employees who wrote the paper claiming that the algorithms favored conservatives posts, but you treat the paper like absolute truth. Did you bother to look at the authors' titles before you posted the paper? What if you discovered that the lead author was .... a client partner at Twitter?!?

Also lol @ party lines, just because I tend to side with the Blue party more does not mean I am a Dem supporter by any means. My positions are based in support by numbers and morals.

Let's revisit what I said:
I think it's foolish to believe that anyone on this forum is going to change anyone else's mind; is that what your goal is? This is doubly true when posters refuse to deviate from party lines.

Did I say I was talking about you, or are you failing to infer yet again?

Good point…..until recently gender and sex were very interchangeable terms. Now we don’t just have male, female and neutral gender…….there have been numerous other “gender labels” invented to further complicate matters. I’m wondering if we’ll soon have the toy aisles at WalMart segregated by numerous gender categories.
