Can you give me a link. I'd like to learn more about this. I did a bunch of Google searches and came up empty with the exception of some kind of provisional deal that Putin rejected.

Simple internet search

Did I watch this on Shark Tank? Zelensky got an offer from Putin and then decided to take the one from Biden?

If you had squatters living in part of your house would just let them live there forever?
Who are the squatters in this scenario? The Russian speaking people of the Donbas who have been getting shelled since 2014 because they disagree with the western organized and funded coup to bring Ukraine into Nato to open a new market for western arms dealers, are those the squatters you are referring to?

The ramifications of this versus Putins recent blustering will be significant.

I’d expect no nukes will be used against a NATO country.

You'd expect wrong. Russia will end all life on this planet before losing the Donbas and Crimea to a hostile military alliance. I dont get what part of this people dont get. Didn't you all think Russia would never invade Ukraine. I know thats what the ruling elite thought before they funded the coup in 2014 boy were they wrong. Now we got thousands dead so western oligarchs can make more profits. Soon we will see how much value all that wealth has when we are sitting on a planet ravaged by nuclear fallout. I hope you all like watching your loved ones dying a slow painful death from the nuclear radiation. Seriously can someone point to one example of Putin bluffing and not following through on his rhetoric?

So sad simpleton. Cant even come up with anything original. What because I talk about common sense arguments I must be Russian. Just a pathetic attempt at nothing. Guess the children have shown up and have nothing of anything to say of any consequence.

I pretty much refuse to live my life playing piss pants over a midget with a nuke briefcase. That is something I laugh at and potentially try to toss at dollar beer night at the pub.

What a waste of time. You actually thought this in your head and decided to post it. Damn I wish I had the time you have to post thoughts of absolute pointlessness.

Ukraine is now advancing to take Kremanna. I guess that's not important either.
The Kherson defense line has broken and Ukraine has advanced 20 miles already tonight. I guess Kherson Oblast isn't important as well.

I like that Russia sees less and less of Ukraine as important.

This is not news, and is a ridiculous take. The headline suggesting this is a "strategic city" is a joke. This has been in the works for weeks. This goes back to a time when some understood that Russia took its "eye off the ball" and focused too much attention on their exercises elsewhere. Ukraine then took over large amount of area uncontested due to the Russian oversight. Lyman was the only city that was being defended as part of the ground Ukraine took from that Russian error weeks ago. What we know about Lyman:

1. Lyman was being defended by 500 or so militia garrison who were not trained in infantry warfare. These are not professional Russian troops.
2. Ukraine had dedicated no less than 8k troops to retaking Lyman.
3. The 500 militia troops with the support of Russian air and missile support held off the 8k Ukrainian troops for 3 weeks.
4. Lyman is a small (15k) and relatively insignificant town that has been mostly emptied of civilians.
5. Russia determined Lyman was not worth defending and efforts were better spent elsewhere
6. Russian troops were sent in to pull the militia garrison out, and successfully did so

Lyman will no doubt be used by Ukraine (and the West for that matter) as a sign they are winning the war, or that the tables of turning. Nothing could be further from the truth. Time will play this out, unless Biden gets the world involved in WWIII beforehand.

Ukrainian territory is Ukrainian territory regardless of whether it is deemed significant or not. If Russia didn’t think it was worth defending, then why occupy in the first the place? Seems like a strategic mistake on their part if they took it and are just withdrawing.

No reason arguing. This is the same guy who has basically said Russia didn't want to win the war early (like Putin), and that they never wanted to take Kyiv.

I was pondering this thought today.

Let's assume for a moment that legitimate vote referendum processes could be implemented. But if most people in the "annexed" territories that would side with Ukraine have at least temporarily left those territories and all that remain are people who support Russia, what do you do?

Most Ukrainians have left eastern Ukraine due to russia invading or they have been deported to russia, Any vote in occupied areas is just dumb
