Davis Mills has been better than Fields. This franchise is bad at evaluating people that evaluate college QBs.

The NFL is ruining college QB’s. Yes they can be top 5 picks but the nfl is a different talent level than college. They need time to learn, develop and need time for all of this to happen.

I don't think Fields is being given any sort of help in that offense.

That OL is reminiscent of what we saw from ND's line the first 2 games. I think the Bears are like 3rd to last in terms of percentage of pressures given up per pass attempts. And what's sad is that the Bears OL hasn't faced many blitzes this season. A lot of the pressures were given up from teams just rushing 3-4. They're decent in run blocking, but boy do they suck at pass pro.

Then you look at his receiving options. Minus Mooney...well, they're poop. EQ, Kmet and some guy named Pringle? Maybe Tom Brady can make something of this, but I think you're asking a bit much of a guy who's barely started a full season of football.

Not a Bears fan, but I think Fields still has a lot of raw talent and a high ceiling. Not sure how you can evaluate the young man with the lack of weapons and a pretty damn bad OL. I think you need to give it some time, but you don't want to ruin him, either. Tough position to be in.

Still 2-1, lot of season left.

This... I'm a season ticket holder, and at the games you can see there's absolutely no separation on most plays by the guys on the outside. Mooney and Kmet's drops don't help either. He's basically a rookie, with a new staff and roster. Has to lose all the terrible coaching he had from last inept staff. Let's give him sometime here. Bears fans are delusional right now if they think we are doing anything this year. Poles stripped it down on purpose to go out and spend after this year, and next. Patience is a virtue.

I dunno. Most Bears fans I talked to knew this season was gonna suck.

I think most accepted that they were probably going to lose 11 or more games.

The important thing was that Fields shows development and progress. But that's hard to do when your receiving corp is arguably the worst in the league and your OL is giving up the 2nd most pressure percentage on drop backs of any team. If think it's here that Bears fans need to grab a hold of reality. But to be fair, they're probably jaded over the past half a century of developing next to nothing at QB.

Last time the Bears beat New England, Shane Matthews was QB1.

That was nuts last night.

I'm shocked. That victory gave me a little hope that...well the situation isn't hopeless. Maybe Fields can lead an effective offense after all?

Part of me wants them to keep winning, but I also know they are not good enough to get to the playoffs (or win a wildcard game if they somehow get there). They need help on the offense so bad. A great draft pick would be huge for Poles, who needs a great draft.

This isn't the problem.. Terrible OL play as well as the worst seperation of receivers in the league has been a contributing factor.. Yes he needs to ditch the ball when nothings there, but kid has shown nothing but toughness and a desire to win. Once we spend that bag this offseason, we may see what he has in store.

This is the tweet right here of the season so far.. A competent staff for the most part. Passing D is top 5 in NFL too.

They lead the NFL with $106 million in cap space, plus they have 7 draft picks in 2023.

It's a good start for a new regime if they could possibly get a wild card and sneak into the playoffs knowing they have assets available to build on that.

Bears traded away Roquan today for a 2nd and a 5th.. This one stings, but I am guessing Poles knew he wasn't going to re-sign

This is depressing, but the move makes sense.

I love Roquan and continue to believe he's one of the best LBs in the league, but the Bears need to load up on draft capital and maximize cap space.

I think the negotiations this past off season were not that fruitful, and unless Bears franchised him, they weren't going to extend him for what he wanted.

Building a defense with ILB first ain’t gonna cut it. It goes pass rusher then CB in terms of importance. No need to waste a huge chunk of cap space on ILB even if we all loved Roquan.

Rams don't have a first round pick in 2023. They're built for win now and they're last in rushing right now.

Get picks.

GM Poles seems to be gaining confidence. It was a very strong organizational move to make.
Wasn't Roquan playing WLB this year? I haven't been able to pay attention to them more than 2 sec all year so far. Funny though, if they were a playoff team, I'd have likely found more time.
