Yeah Tommy Rees gets zero passes. He's awful and that fact won't wear off. Also since Buchner will miss some time it appears, he won't get a pass for having 5"7 version of himself at back up. Tommy's passes have all been handed out

The Tommy defenders slowly and cowardly emerge. Nice.
Did you even read the sequence of posts? My comment to him had absolutely zero to do with the part about Tommy and his abilities, of who I am not a big fan as a coach.
That dude has been posting nothing but nonsense on this board for years, but since you didnt read, my comment was based on:
Post 1 - having tommy on staff is strike 1 against freeman
Post 2 - he is well aware that freeman did not hire Tommy or have any real say in the biring..

Wtf, thats just flat out spewing shit for the purpose of spewing shit.

False. The closest thing I have ever said was last week that there were played to be had and Buchner missed some big ones, just like he did yesterday. That is an undisputablr fact. I’ve generally been indifferent on Tommy otherwise. In a lot of ways he is like Chip Long. He makes a few incredibly good calls a game that basically scheme a TD if we execute, and a lot of meh in between.

The touchdown drive yesterday was a really nicely called drive…they got players in space, space the field and kept Marshall on their heels…the TD that Buchner missed before half was good Tommy..the Touchdown that Buchner was late and inside on the deep shot to Styles was good Tommy. The rest of the game was the rest of the time Tommy which is vanilla and lacks creativity regardless of talent. Hes completely bipolar as a playcaller and the QB development obviously isnt happening at the level it should be.

Previously dude, not now. I meant in the past. Congrats on seeing the light.

I posted a few comments since the game but basically read the different threads. I must have read a couple of thousand posts and you make up about half of them, yet you’ve basically said the same drivel over and over.

They they are, emerging on the Serengeti. They are know on the plains as the watecarrier tribe. They easily fall for the newest thing amd cling on to it no matter the evidence.

They likely need to retool the entire offensive staff this off-season baring miraculous turnaround with Angeli. But the idea that a true frosh is going to come in and light it up with this OL seems far fetched.

Idk, I find it hard to evaluate any of the offensive coaches outside of Harry and Rees. We knew Stuckey was dealt a tough hand with the WR room going in, and I can't really judge McCullough with how bad the OL has been thus far. Mayer makes evaluating Parker difficult because I could make him a good player lol.

Everything I’ve known about ND football over the past 25 years of fandom tells me that they will stick with Pyne until the bitter end.

Im all in for this. But why wait until the offseason? They need to start now by either limiting or relieving Rees of play calling. I think its already been mentioned but go see what Tom Herman is up to and bring him on in some capacity. Or someone like him as a ofense consultant analyst. I dont see how finishing the season without big changes helps anything. Certainly don't have anything to lose at this point.

Aside from Rees the entire offensive staff is brand new. I don't know what tossing the lot of them after two games accomplishes, aside from maybe messing up recruiting. If you can find an experienced analyst (Herman would do) willing to come in at this point in the season and help design/call plays or something, go for it. But I think we have to play the hand we're dealt for the moment.

We will be fine.
Sounds crazy, but I don't think you are wrong. Since Jimmy, we have had multiple 4* and borderline 5* quarterbacks in our classes. Rees supplants an ineffective Crist. Book replaced an erratic Wimbush. Coan beats out the upstart frosh. And away we go. Give Pyne a shout, see what happens. If not Angeli in the wings. After that, find someone.

I never said get rid of anyone. I simply said change is needed. I would also argue the longer this goes without improvement will harm recruiting more. ND has a hard enough time recruiting without the added uncertainty. Other teams will use this against us in recruiting.

Correction other teams are already using this to poach ND recuits.

Anyone know what the chubby dude we elevated to DC after firing BVG is up to? Can he coach QBs?
