If anyone knows how to recruit bkue chips, its the guy wgo was a blue chip recruit this millennium.
Yes, I think ND still has a shot and the feelings are mutual for Keon possibly re-committing back to ND.Keon’s mom over the past few days liked some ND content on Twitter (photo of Marcus Freeman, digs on BK’s fake accent, etc).
Between this and the common narrative that Keon still had interest but was forced into a decommit, is there actually a shot we could still be in play if we wanted to be? Still feels weird to me that if his mom seems interested, and if he seems interested, that we would completely cut ties despite the perceived notion of him looking for an NIL package.
Maybe.. but true. The video deff shows him in aweCheesey

Ryan Day cried a few months ago about how they needed $13 million and then they landed Carnell Tate and Noah Rogers. I suspect Day was trying to get the attention of OSU boosters so they could step up their game. It's sounded like this de-commitment was all about upfront NIL money.
Which is why I'm not really understanding how Ohio State is a player here. Unless something's changed, they aren't offering upfront NIL money either.
The Ohio Auditor of State, Ohio Attorney General, and myriad journalists with the ability to request public information... suggests that OSU coaches would be pretty dumb to attempt such a thing.I think OSU is probably paying. They’re too shade not to.
Bunch of USC guys recently launched an independent NIL fund against the explicit wishes of the university administration (what was said behind the scenes and/or with the football program of course may be different). There's no particular reason ND people couldn't do the same.Riveting.
I have to wonder if we'll reach a point that a bunch of rich ND fans begin to get really tired of ND standing pat with NIL and doing it the "right" way.
I don't anticipate ND to change, but I can definitely see some rich fans putting out a few 6 figure deals to Keeley-type recruits to sweeten the pot, and if ND has an issue with it, those fans will basically reply "We don't give a shit. If you're not going to do something about this clear talent gap that is keeping us from being a legit title contender, then we will."
They’ll just be the last ones to do it like the jumbotron. ND and progress aren’t compatible. More like passivity.Bunch of USC guys recently launched an independent NIL fund against the explicit wishes of the university administration (what was said behind the scenes and/or with the football program of course may be different). The problem is that this wouldn't be the university attempting it. It would be a private collective started by fans/alums.The Ohio Auditor of State, Ohio Attorney General, and myriad journalists with the ability to request public information... suggests that OSU coaches would be pretty dumb to attempt such a thing.
It isn't so much that ND's resistant to change in this case. It's that most of the programs that are leading the way in P4P NIL deals for recruits are the ones that had the infrastructure already in place, because they were doing so illegally before NIL was authorized. They’ll just be the last ones to do it like the jumbotron. Or the US Congress can (and should) step in and stop the insanity. But then again Congress would have to not be insane themselves to be effective. It isn't so much that ND's resistant to change in this case. And this won't be something ND can or will change. It's going to fall on the fans and alums/boosters to make this happen.
Granted, I think we need to realize that ND has a lot to work with if the fans/boosters/alums do choose to exploit this. FUND has already generated nearly 10 million in donations in the span of less than 5 months.
ND fans and alums are definitely all for putting up the cash to get the best players. It's just a matter of setting up the infrastructure and the methods to get these NIL upfront deals that's the issue.
Bureaucracy aside.Or the US Congress can (and should) step in and stop the insanity. But then again Congress would have to not be insane themselves to be effective.
I was with one of those USC guys over the weekend. He told me it took a while for the non-profit to be set up and the initial money transfers to hit the account due to issues the bank was having. My opinion is the bank questioned the intention of the non-profit due to the level of donations trying to pour into it. The guy I was with told me with no money restrictions they will be back winning national championships not just in football, but in Olympic sports they were held back in with Title IX restrictions. He said no USC athlete will ever have a dime of expense while on campus. He also implied they are in touch with world leaders (likely money exchange I am assuming) to bring in top athletes to the school.Bunch of USC guys recently launched an independent NIL fund against the explicit wishes of the university administration (what was said behind the scenes and/or with the football program of course may be different). His “uncle” will be so happySounds like Keeley is changing is Florida visit from official to unofficial... maybe he committed to OSU?
"World leaders?" OK...I was with one of those USC guys over the weekend. Where there is potential tax money to be had, government becomes proficient.Or the US Congress can (and should) step in and stop the insanity. But then again Congress would have to not be insane themselves to be effective.
Wait....you mean the same OSU that claims to not be doing NIL deals?Sounds like Keeley is changing is Florida visit from official to unofficial... maybe he committed to OSU?
